    ... and they had chosen to sleep outside too. Between the pair of them, there wasn't much silence and serenity through the night. It sounded like a jet was taking off just to the left of us. To make matters worse, we started sailing at 4 in the morning so all the people on the deck were abruptly awoken by the anchor lifting on the winch and the enormous inboard motor firing up, once we got moving, the boat rocked heavily.     With both the tours now finished I had a couple of days left in Istanbul to explore the main sites. Fortunately there were a few of us hanging around for the time so it almost didn’t feel as though the tour had ended, plus we kept in touch with Adi who gave us tips on what to see and do.

    ... is a definite 'staged authenticity' about the place: restaurant after restaurant line the side of the main road, with the ruins towering up the hill side; businesses attempt to offer a Turkish culinary experience, despite establishment after establishment offering the same menu. However, one cannot detract from the ghostly sense of the abandoned buildings surrounding and populating the hillside.

    I quite agree... A fab area with very friendly people who are very willing to make you feel welcome...I don't think we could have bettered the blue lagoon at Sun City....sun beds on the edge of a picturesque bluest of blue stretches of water...

    We have eaten very well. (too well actually!!).... Done our little bit of culture , getting there by the local buses, which was surprisingly easy.... ...

    ... and a couple of bees. This was a pleasant trail but nothing dramatic unless you continued to climb through the falls on slippery rocks while hanging onto ropes. I chose to pass this time.
