The small lanes and adobe houses of the ksour were fascinating but it was a very basic way of life for the village people. As part of our tour we were invited into a ksour home. In this dilapidated non-funded rubble of a building were the most beautiful rooms, maybe three or four, with lovely stucco plaster archways, mosaic walls and painted wooden roofs....you could have been in the Alhambra in Granada! We could not believe this was the inside of the same building!
