... any given time the vista was impressive to look at. We dropped anchor with other boats just around the headland from the main town on the island. We did spot one inviting anchorage on the way which was in fact a ferry port. We did all this before 4pm and sat o. The boat relaxing and snorkeling for the rest of our leisurely day.

Guadeloupe

A travel blog entry by skdude on May 27, 2014

We departed for Guadeloupe at noon leaving behind the tranquil waters which had treated us well over the last 4 days. It was about a 4 hours sail. We learned that it had been built in 1942 by a wealthy local gentleman whose son was ill and required medical treatment. At that time, no doctor resided on the island. The house was built and advertised to be given rent-free to a doctor in exchange for the ...

... lots of fun and spent quality time entertaining Abigail and me.

We ate, walked into town in the tropical heat, swam, watched iguanas, fed the fish and ate some more. Our villa was the perfect place to relax with the bonus of incredible hosts and fellow travellers making it a highlight of our trip, in fact, I voted it my favourite accommodation in Guadeloupe, as this was due to largely to the girls playing ...
