... meant we'd been learning on the beach!

Anyway once we'd finished that we did actually relax for the afternoon before heading south to Liwonde National Park. We managed to get up at a reasonable hour and not have to hang around for ages to leave, which was nice. The park is on the eastern side of the Shire river and being so low down it was HOT. Not the best place to get a bout of horrible stomach cramps and ...
Blantyre, Malawi sianevans... seen any hippos or crocs but have spent a few nervous nights, listening to hippo's honking! The lake has been quite calm but some days we had to turn into shore becuase of the wind. I am totally exhausted and we are taking our first day off today at a lodge. Even splshed out on a room, what a luxury! Anyway will update thisproperly when I get chance.
Blantyre, Malawi mchizilisa... but I confessed my age to the Blantyre UCG members last Sabbath and spoke briefly about how youth can do "big things," as some new friends have asked in light of my time here. Each day I'm reaping rewards from a strong family support. Maybe I can do "big things," as they phrase it, because I succeeded in doing the little things well with the help and instruction of my parents. On the surface that sounds trite. But it's through helping me overcome challenges everyday they ...
Blantyre, Malawi davisc.... detergent bottle. We played catch, hot potatoe, and took turns spinning it on the concrete. I also kept them entertained with my camera. They loved that I could set the timer and actually be in the pictures with them. For lunch, we sat on a straw mat on the floor in the living room and ate Nsima, pumpkin leaves, and little fish (which I skipped out on). Everyone washes their hands ...
Blantyre, Malawi hawaii14... a week and a half that died because of diarreaha. We went to the other orphanage Monday which is Orphan Care Malawi. It is in Blantyre on the outskirts of the city in the center of a very poor village. It's hard to get to because the roads are so bad. They have absolutly nothing there at the orphanage, so whatever they do with the kids, they need to be very creative and use whatever resources they have, like rocks, sticks, potato ...
Blantyre, Malawi hawaii14... a life changing experience for me. I am returning with a different perspective on how I fit into the world, a deeper understanding of human connection, a wider view of religion and a better direction for my life. I can't wait to see everyone, although with bittersweet feelings about leaving. I know I am not ready for the cold weather. I have been enjoying my extended summer! One Love
Blantyre, Malawi elizabeth.sarah... I will get the name and mailing address when we go and I'll post it on here next week. I can't believe I only have 2 weeks left. The time has gone so quickly and it's going to be so hard to leave. I can't wait to post my pictures on-line for you all to see though. I have tons of pictures of all different things this time...Not just children! I think that's all for now. I hope everyone is well!
Blantyre, Malawi hawaii14... moonlight because it was a day away from being full. We sat on rocks and waited for the hyenas! I did not realize how big they are. The largest one we saw was as big as a female lion but not as fat. Then we got to hear them call to each other-which sounds like laughing! It was really cool! We heard many other animals! \ Tuesday, during the afternoon I went with some students to get free HIV tests! I had told them if they would go I ...
Blantyre, Malawi elizabeth.sarah... to the lodge demonstrated that. Once I arrived into Blantyre I explored the town. Blantyre is a smallish town that has a nice charming feel to it. The area I was staying in was a old colonial area which was very nice but a little bit run down. Blantyre had everything you needed in terms of banks, bars, and restaurants. The European Championship was on whilst I was in Malawi and I was staying with a load of Dutch ...
Blantyre, Malawi richardcowley... started sucking my hand, soooo
cute! It was rather uncomfortable on the bus because I had very little
space, but that's just the way it goes out there in public transport.
Cram as many people in as possible.

One of the standard questions I'm always being asked is about the composition
of the ...
