      We stayed a total of four nights at the start of May. We had heard Venice can be a bit smelly in summer and it often floods in Winter so we timed our trip to be in spring which was perfect. All the window boxes were full of flowering plants and the weather (besides one day of complete rain) was ideal.

      ... to walk through St Mark's Square was from a back/side alley entrance.. and as we walk into what seemed to be thousands of people surrounded by beautiful art, history, architecture, etc... the bells started ringing... and they rang, and rang, and rang ~ it was beautiful!! Definitely an experience I will not forget anytime soon. It surely ranks as one of my top five travel experiences of all time. It was uh-maze-ing!!!!!!!!!

      ... statues, and blown glass is Venice's specialty! As soon as Momma got cash from the ATM we headed to some shops. I got some blown glass jewelry, but my favorite thing I got was a small and beautiful blown glass dog. All my stuff was wrapped in bubble wrap and more breakable things like my glass dog were put in boxes. I love shopping in Venice!
