First of all we caught a Vaporetto to Ponte di Rialto as we wanted to pick up a couple of things as presents and we had seen a shop there yesterday we wanted to go back to. ... to be populated around 452 AD. It's a very small place, taking less than an hour to explore on foot, and checking out the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta, established in 632 AD. Surprisingly enough, there are two highly regarded restaurants among the few buildings there, but neither were open for lunch yet, so we returned to Burano for lunch.

Burano is unique because every building is gaily painted in a bright color! Sunday ...

... be too sceptical), they found his vocal chords and tongue had not decomposed while the rest of his body had. Therefore, they thought it was appropriate to put them on display in the church. People were lining up to view them, and afterwards, people were able to pay the priest for a blessing (I'm not quite sure what that had to do with the body parts!). We then continued on to Venice. The group is split in two. We are staying on the mainland, while others are on the island. ...
