First thing this morning we were all woken up by Lily shouting out at the top of her voice that Ruby was lying on the floor and pretending to sleep. Its a bit of a habit that she has got into lately so if she is awake then so is everyone else. I'm not sure why Ruby was on the floor or if she was pretending, we never did find out. It was another packing and moving day and since Jess had some work to do before we left it was all up ...

... we missed our connection. We had to take our tickets to the TrenItalia Customer Service to get new reservations. It was not a very efficient system! After getting our new reservations, we were off to Venice.

We got the correct ferry this time to go up the Grand Canal (had a half hour wait as it was so busy though) and returned home to change before going back to the first restaurant we tried and had the same tasty Squid and Carbonara dinner. After eating squid ink pasta you get black teeth and lips - so I look as gorgeous as the witchy woman on pirates of the Caribbean across the table, too bad its delicious and ...

... br> So, today was a long day of walking to the point that both our legs ache and Kamie is highly questioning his previous demands that we walk the 294 steps up to the top of the Leaning Tower of Pisa in a few days. I was so enthralled with my eyes today that I didn't eat but two gelato all day! The mint was good and the hazelnut so~so. Tonight, I skipped dinner and Kamie picked-up a small sandwich (prosciutto and funghi) at ...

Tour of the islands Murano, Burano & Torsello

... for their lace making and their brightly coloured homes. No way was I gonna be sucked in there so rather than go into the lace shop, we decided to explore & take pictures instead. It had its own "leaning tower of Venice", another bell tower. Burano was very pretty indeed. The last island, Torsello was a wash out. It surprised us to learn that it had a population of just 17!!! It is famous for its mosaics. Unfortunately the walkway to ...
