... the Greek flag.

The streets are bedecked with flags, people wearing their formal clothes, parents with their younger children, all waiting for the parade to come, to admire their children, and feel this unique moving moment.

We are out in the streets and free to have a stroll in this beautiful picturesque village of Lefkara. My Greek friends are interested to see this popular embroidery, others want to visit the museum ...
Pano Lefkara, Larnaca, Cyprus greekcypriot... was very friendly and helpful. The local beer was very nice. Keo. The waiter showed us some other places on our map to go visit while we walked around. Had a look at a local fruit and vege market which was quite good but much the same as ours only with a few different products like dates, little fish etc. Headed back on the shuttle at 2pm which was long enough. Had a rest and then went to Oasis to watch sail out. Clocks back 1 hour and I don't know why.
Limassol, Cyprus stephgraemeCyprus was never on our list of places to go or see for that matter, as it is so far off coarse. But Cyprus is now where we find ourselves, as this is were boats from Israel land. After all the horns, hustle and bustle that is the Middle East it is quite refreshing to be back in a European country where we don't get asked constantly to look into someone's shop, hassled all day long and Shona can ...
Limassol, Cyprus dinoshona... hard to find a
church, although in retrospect we could have tried a bit harder. We
got into Limassol and once again struggled a bit trying to find the
hotel but we managed. We went out for a wander and lunch and then
had a leisurely afternoon by the pool. That night we discovered the
old castle and tried the meat mezze. It was a nice night and
Limassol proved to be a worthwhile stop in Cyprus.
Limassol, Cyprus lantian1979... had alligator fights and finally for theatre, plays and music. Perfect acoustics. Next stop was Apollo's Temple again in the throws of being restored. They have reconstucted the temple at the end of the holy/sacred road and there are old aquaducts bringing water and drains to take away the dirty water etc from the baths. There were several public baths from stone cold to med temp and ...
Limassol, Cyprus hazdeb... of what I saw, well maybe a little, so here is a story of Cyprus, the real Cyprus, the Greek cyprus. Day 1 Once again, we stayed in Limasol, same place, it was good. We had a quick run around there, seeing the fort and the mosque, but there is not much really there to see. Day 2 First up was Kourion, it was good, but it amazed us that 8 coaches came and went whilst we were there. They only saw the villa and theatre, they missed ...
Limassol, Cyprus uncle_davros... from me next week when the paper comes in. then Jayne and I would go so she can bring in her passport and do the final step in her visa. This was the second time I called on her cell phone. You'd think that she would call back to say something as she would see missed calls. Calling her office phone I was told that the number is wrong. This is poor service by Maria. Richard called to say that he might be going to New ...
Limassol, Cyprus richlion... number & we felt happy to drift around the buildings which, although very old, have been 'restored' to within an inch of their lives. It's all pristine & beautifully maintained. Despite being a real tourist spot it is still a working monestary & you do see the monks walking around. The church is spectacular filled with icons, gold & silver and heavy with the smoke of incense. After ...
Polis, Cyprus anneowens... as you have to get a ride back. But all is not bad, as I'll list the good later on. Cyprus does have buses, but they don't go to many places - just along the main routes of the city. A bus ride will set you back about $2.50. Now that is a lot of money since you are traveling within a city. Quadruple that if you have a spouse and have a return trip, too. That's a ten spot for a trip to downtown Limassol for ...
Limassol, Cyprus richlion... the night there, and drive all the way to our residence early the following morning.

Unbelievable what we could see. The fire had reached the last bushes down the sea.

And this trip ends here unexpectedly.

We spent 4 months working on the house, cleaning and having it painted again.

It was a nightmare, but we survived. This incident made us stronger.
