... University and showed us around on her day off. Our first stop was Meiji Shrine. Like most things, it has been rebuilt after being destroyed in WWII. It is the largest Shinto shrine in Tokyo and has the largest torii gates in all of Japan. We saw a wedding, another wedding couple getting photos taken and young children, babies and those ages 3, 5 and 7 who were at the shrine dressed in traditional clothing for the cultural practice of visiting the shrine at such ages.
