... looking at the forecourt sculptures. Jazz is the Muzak played in most places and Kanazawa has a jazz festival on. I have a suspicion jazz is popular in this country. Cyclists everywhere, all on footpaths and all with no helmets varying degrees of skill. Did I mention Panasonic makes bicycles?...and no, they are not electric. Food & Fabric Have a look at what you can chose for a Japanese breakfast, and the very cute bento style tray that you use. ...

Luckily enough the rain doesn't start yet so I'm able to explore the adjacent streets full of traditional merchant shops. This area consists of the oldest still occupied properties in Takayama and it appears there has been a lot of effort put forth to preserve this area. Pedestrian only this is where the locals come to stroll and be seen. ...

... for me at least totally enjoyable and a learning experience to boot. There are a ton of pictures to go with as well as a few of Nanako's beautiful flower garden and idyllic potting shed. The garden itself is situated along a busy roadway and open for anyone to stop and smell the roses, literally. Feel free to comment on this post and I'll answer any questions I can for those who want to know more about the building! ...
