Hommik taas pilves. Tellin omletti, saia ja teed. Vahelduseks saan ise kõike doseerida.
Suund liivadüünide poole, et üle nende Diskitini jõuda. Vahemaa 7 kilomeetrit.

Pilved on kummalist värvi. Alles hiljem Lehis saan teada, et olla olnud päikesevarjutus.
Hobusemees saab minu rõõmuks endale kõik järelejäänud toidukraami. Tema asjad jäävad lähedale tallu ootele. Õhtuks peaks ta siin tagasi olema.
Hundari suunas turnime mööda kanjonit, kord laskudes alla jõeni, siis jälle tõustes kõrgele üles. Tee tolmab, midagi ...

Jammu - Srinagar

... eat much). In night, around 9 O'clock we decided to explore the Dal Lake and took a "Shikara" from the houseboat for a late evening stroll. It was a unique experience in an atmosphere of peace and tranquility. Highly recommended for you all who are planning to go there. In simple words as it is said - Kashmir is a poem written by nature. By 12 O'clock we were back to our houseboat. We decided to retire to ...

Marka Valley Trek

Vaishno Devi - The Mother beckons

... the effect of the climb and were beginning to relish the periodic stops we were taking at irregular intervals for snacks, water, snaps, exchange of backpacks and little Anu (all of 4 years old) and, the honest, unashamed rests themselves. The sticks were really making their use felt and, apart from the general sense of enthusiasm (even if, by now, waning!) and unabashed devotion (in the case of those who felt it), were true catalysts in our reaching the top. We decided to skip ...

Leh to Manali

Leh to Manali is one of the most spectacular roads you could ever travel on (except maybe the road to Khaza in the Spiti Valley). Day 1 : We left Leh after lunch and were half way up the Taglang La (5300m) when we saw our reflection coming the other way! A couple on another BMW 1150GS!!! The first people we have really met doing something like our trip! After a long afternoon chat we thought we better get over the pass whilst there was still some daylight. It was bitterly cold on top with a ...

Awesome Ladakh

Arrived at Leh - it has a very noticeable military presence due to the proximity of the borders to Pakistan and China(Tibet) with lots of soldiers standing around with guns! Noticed the altitude immediately-Leh is at 3500m. Got met by our hotel taxi at the airport (the first time this had happened to us, so could get used to this sort of service!!) and got to Padma Hotel which was ideal. It was tucked away off the road and had a nice ...

Manali

It is hard to find a place to begin. A place that is just far enough away from a hokey travel diary repeating, "We did this and then we did that." Just where is the meaning in it? I think that it must take distance to grasp meaning. Perhaps now is a good time to answer questions that many are asking. Never mind the trains and the toes. Forget the forts, the dust and the head bobble. Tell me, how are you two doing? I mean, how is everything going? Are you getting ...

The Road to Leh

We set off at dawn with our Nepalese driver Bill Singh. Sound man, good driver, thankfully. He was a good laugh too, and had good tunes. Climbing up to the first pass we didn't really know what was ahead of us. We had pondered getting warm jackets but they were pricey and we were going to the Desert next so wouldn't need them. So we opted for thermals and then reckoned we would ...
