... is stunning. I'm in the grasslands so it's like a very hilly Alberta with mountains surrounding it. The mountains look like home, snow capped and cold. One very distinct difference is that they are peppered with stupas (religious tiny cone-like buildings), prayer flags and huge Tibetan letters. It's incredible. Even once I had found out that the trek would only take two hours, indicating that this woman was not the best source of trekking information, our laziness got the better of us and we decided to save the camping for Mongolia. ... And it is becoming more and more popular. Cycling consistently at over 4000 meters and on roads with such bumpy sections cannot be easy. Team GB had better watch out. If China decides to promote cycling as an Olympic sport, they will represent serious competition to other cycling nations.
