Ricklefs and I left our hotel in Amman at 4:30 am to catch a 7am flight to Istanbul where we had a 9 hour layover before flying on to Skopje, Macedonia to meet B, who has worked with the Roma people to improve their lives. ... for dinner. It looked swanky from the outside, but the menu items were cheap! Most food is dirt cheap in Skopje. My smoked salmon sandwich and gocciato (espresso w/milk froth) came to 210 DEN.

Took the taxi back to the hostel. David said not to pay more than 150 DEN for the ride, and I paid 120 ...
