... s past as we were cruising along. The town is very much half French and German. The cruise went for just over and hour. Then as we docked, Colleen got a feeling that a migraine was coming, so the day got cut short, as we quickly got back to the hotel so she could take some drugs to try and hit it on the head early. ... supermarket-bought salmon, prawns and crabs. Our one true restaurant meal was at this far-flung place (if you choose to walk like we did) in Schiltigheim. Aux Quatre Vents was a true gem. We stumbled into a little cosy house, not knowing what was on the menu. We had escargots, rabbit meat, lagsana, spatzle, salad ...

Tuesday, October 21, 2014 Speyer • Home-Hosted Kaffeeklatsch We docked early so we were able to take a good walk before breakfast. Then we set out on a walking tour of Speyer, with our guide. This town was founded by the Romans in approximately AD 50 and it expanded rapidly during the Middle Ages. Unfortunately, much of Speyer was destroyed in the 17th century. One exception is ...
