Over the weekend I traveled with my Aunt to visit her boyfriend, Carlos, in Pfalz, Germany. It is a beautiful, ancient looking part of Germany with historical architecture, rolling fields and is right on the French boarder. Oh what a night!!
... out that we needed refreshments. I am so proud of myself. I ordered 2 local white lagers on tap. Granted I had my phrase book in front of me, the bartender smiled and was happy to serve us. I felt so good about my speaking ability that I asked for another. When in france!! We went back to the hotel to meet Marlin and here we sit waiting for him to take us to some Tomb restaurant. ... new shoes buy one get one 50% off. score! they are like baby clouds on my feet and super cute. stephanie and i had a wonderful lunch of gnocchi and pizza and a bit of wine. on the walk home from shopping we stopped at a local pub with the most beautiful wood tables. met up with marlin and had a wonderful dinner and we even had room for desert. now we are all super tired and trying to plan out our tomorrow.

... On our way back to the ship we detoured to a little town called Obnernai - lovely country place. One thing we were shown here that was different was the courtyard building system. The inner courtyard was surrounded by matching dwellings that belonged to different members of the family who would inhabit their own little residence but meet up in the central area for socialisation.
