... from the port. There is a decent travel sleeping window to be made use of. We are the first tour bus to arrive for the day so we quickly head through the town and up the hill (via the traditional donkey of course) to reach the top before the thousands of other tourists start flocking in. The acropolis looks like a castle, it has massive walls or sheer cliffs around the entire complex, towers, a portcullis, archer niches and above the ...

... all back to the ship, loaded it into the fridge and took one back with me as Gab, Emerson and I went off to have a swim in the bay near the boat. The water salinity is so high in this part of the world you float head clear of the water. Gab and Emerson worked on their shell collection while I floated around the bay - bliss!

We could have taken the donkey up the mountain but one whiff of the donkey poo in the 35 degree heat put paid to that! We admired the ruins from afar that day and instead headed to the local's beach to swim in the clear water and for Andrew to do bombies off the rocks!

Very beautiful old city and ruins. 300 days of sunshine a year. Visited the Knights of St John castle. We have now visited the 7 wonders of the Ancient Greek and Roman world without really trying! Very warm day again but moderately cooler at 31 than they had 3 days ago - 47c. Sailed to Symi this afternoon, a very beautiful town with colourful houses perched on the side of the harbour. Had to have a banana ...
