We started at the salty ears sculpture. Perm had been a salt mining area in the 18th and 19th centuries and the carrying of bags of salt on men's shoulders irritated their ears and made them red. So, people from Perm were referred to as "salty ears."

... days I couldn't bear it any longer so attempted more of a shower, fully soaping up followed by a full rinse head to toe, covering the floor in water. It was incredibly successful, until I knocked my toothbrush onto the floor and round the back of the loo.
