Warren has been very sick and has had two days off. Yesterday the men won a silver in the mixed 500's but Wazza was not well enough to compete so we just stayed in the hotel under doctors orders, went to the thermal pools , sat in the salt room, then the steam room then the hot pools. Warren has the flu and woke up very ordinary but the trooper that he is, he paddled in the mixed 2000m race in which he was stroke, ie sets the pace, and won the Gold medal. Australia is now the world champions in senior C(over 60). This afternoon he repeated the ...

... to bed. The result of that is we didn't go to the opening ceremony which is on now. Actually Gary and Allan were told not to go as they both had been unwell. Alan is in stroke with Warren. For you non paddlers that means they are the first paddlers in the boat and the set the pace for the boat. In other words very needed. Of course they will be there tomorrow as the first day is the 2000m races which are on the river Tisza. A hard race but exciting.
