What an adventure we are having, oh my word!!! We left our beautiful Sirince with giving lots of hugs and kisses to Ari and his lovely wife as well as the chef, Ari's brother and father (Mama was probably on the farm picking cherries), headed down the mountain to Selcuk for our 3 hour train trip to Denizli and from there by bus to Pamukkale. The road took us through farmlands filled with pomegranite trees, fig trees, apricot trees, lucerne fields, olive trees ...

The day reminded me of what I sense cruising the Greek isles in a comparable boat would be like. So much of the success of such a trip would be the group.

Some land turtles were the highlight of the return trip. In the home stretch, decided on another restaurant and 1930 dinner. Showered to desalinate, getting some of the journal done before my guests, the Canberra Crowd, arrived. Chatted ...

... right at 9am (even though it is open at sunrise) to find tour buses already pulling out and leaving! Come to find out, they drive in the night before like us and stay in a hotel and hit the site at the crack of dawn (discovered this on the drive to Kas late in the afternoon). So yea, there were 8 tour buses at the South gate when we got there. The place is huge so we actually didn't see anyone for at least the first 10 minutes of walking. The travertines are simply amazing, ...
