    We got an unexpected surprise when we reached Fethiye. We got to our hostel and when to the terrace bar for a drink, overlooking the bay. Within a minute of sitting down and ordering a drink, I looked over the rail and sore our 2 friends from Canberra who we did our tour of Egypt with!     ... bar, pool and gardens which also served as a magnet for local waifs and strays….. it was also conveniently located close by to our local mosque so Mullah serenades continued. The only bugbear really was the bathroom, the shower was made for petite people measuring a mere 24" square - how on earth would generously rounded residents fit in? It was also a tad grubby which one just has to turn a blind eye to.....which aptly takes me ...

My dearest friend Jo said before go I turkey I was to read 'Birds without wings' didn't quite achieve that before the first time I came on my 3 page a night rate, but got there in the end. However I am forever thankful as it is a brilliant book, and visiting this village today bought it all back to life. There is over 4000 stone houses left abandoned by the Christians on a hill side overlooking the sea, as the nearby village of Muslims ...

    ... and a Turkish pizza with kunefe from goats cheese. Seriously his restaurant was amazing!!!! He drove us through the town which was gorgeous and tiny and showed us his other restaurant on the water. We drove 300km for free got all amazing free food. The last guy Murat who dropped us off gave us his number and wanted to drive us everywhere while in kas. People are amazing. Grateful- for amazing people who have us rides and fed us... I guess even the not so amazing ones too ...

    ... tea and smoking until a customer enters the store. No stress here.
    Had breakfast at markets with Karen Henry, great market as this is the area for fruit and veges.
    Hada very nice Turkish dinner with Karen and partner Yusuf (think thats right). Thanks guys.
    They have a lovely silver jewellery shop (Harmonie Silver) with international business in a busy street
