      ... pistachio layer, then drenched in local honey which makes the bottom layers of filo extremely soggy and is probably a dentist’s nightmare but for that naughty moment in time I kid myself that honey is good for one and nuts are healthy, right?

      ... is a definite 'staged authenticity' about the place: restaurant after restaurant line the side of the main road, with the ruins towering up the hill side; businesses attempt to offer a Turkish culinary experience, despite establishment after establishment offering the same menu.       ... restaurants, bars and souvenir shops. Ran into the Canberra Crowd, joining them for an Efes 5 TL. Walkabout with the Canberra Crowd thereafter for a bit, hitting a market where I bought a large raki which should do through the trip and sundry other items 57TL.
