... squares with ornate fountains and found St. Paul's Gate leading out to the harbour. Amazing! We had beautiful sunshine today and no wind, so we enjoyed our last giros in the sun with wifi on the side! Walked outside the city and around to the Tower and Lighthouse of St. Nicholas. At the end of this small harbour stand two pillars each topped by a deer. This is where the Colossus is believed to have stood. We had a morning tour Sue and Darren - a lovely couple who are not about religion and are well travelled and down to earth. We had a great day with them and wish now we were doing the Holy Land with them as they have a car and driver and space for two more......... ... up to a castle at the top which like many medieval fortresses replace Greek and roman temples and reused much of the marble from the prior temples. The view of the Aegean sea from the top was amazing. The top of the castle had ancient roman rooms. ... had been waiting 25 minutes for the baggage man. If his bags were to be overweight at the air port he would charge it to the hotel. He was still shouting while the porter came and I left with him to retrieve our bags. After this fuss his blood pressure boiled over when he couldn't find his passport. Such entertainment - his wife soon found it for him - his behaviour really was disgraceful.
