After a skype call with Philip, mum, Lilly and Claire this morning I was picked up by Peter around 9am. Straight out to the parents to see the pig taken off the spit. This had been cooking since 4am. I had to have a photo taken with Rad's dad and the pig before it was taken off the spit rod. All the family were there again to share the pig with us. My being there gave them the excuse to have a party. Again it was just simple food. The pig, cabbage and ...

We ended the day settling for a dinner of delicious veal rolls with spicy Serbian salad and some World Cup ...

Back to parents for a hot drink, then out to other sisters (Nada) for savoury ham and cheese pancakes and sweet crushed walnut, honey and lemon pancakes. All very nice but I need a day off food. The funniest thing I've seen today, a lady walking her cow. The cows spend most of their time in barns so they get taken out with a chain around their horns to eat some fresh grass and have some exercise. Some ...

    Shopping, Zagreb and Bosnia

... the next few nights so that will be interesting. During the afternoon all Rads sisters arrived with kids and husbands in tow. Conversation was loud and frantic with lots of hand gestures. Made me feel a bit homesick not understanding anything. Once things settled down it was a little easier. After a while Rad's father took us outside and we checked out the piglets, mother pig, chickens, the milking cow which is about to drop ...
