First ferry experience: Wadi Halfa (Sudan) – Aswan (Egypt): approx: 350km
To put it bluntly, the ferry from Wadi Halfa to Aswan is little more than a floating vessel on which people are let loose.
Tickets:
You need to be at the port two days before the weekly ferry leaves to organise your ticket
Departure procedure:
Passengers are requested to be at the boat about five hours before it is scheduled to leave. The five ...
... Greek wine and their local Ouzo. I ate Pastitsia, a pie with layers of pasta and meat but I kept eating Stee's dinner of this fish cooked in peppers and onions. Vance doesn't do fish so he had a harder time with the menu options. Everyone was in a great mood so we ended up just sitting and talking and laughing and drinking and eating for quite awhile.

And then. There are all those people that just annoy the **** out of me. I'm telling you what, "Forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us." is crossing my mind about 20 times a day. It's like everybody wants to be the first one on the bus, the first one off the bus, the first one in the buffet line, the first one in the signup line, the first one... you get the picture. I keep ...
... the gym hence leaving Robyn and Olivia play copious card games together. We seem to be in the dining room all the time and the food is fabulous. Chris helped himself to the bottle of water on the table, the first night at dinner, only to find later that it is priced like gold and had been purchased by the guests we shared the table with. They must have thought us real plebs.
Our first stop was Corfu and the weather, fabulous and warm. Walked ...
... where there were some deckchairs and umbrellas and a little wooden hut thing which these 2 people were organising water sports and that was it. And unbeknown to me, Dangerous Dave had organised for everyone from the tour to put in some euros and so paid for me to do waterskiing and tubing and it was just soooo much fun. We had the best time there. Although did come away with some battle wounds from the tubing when Dave flipped out of his, flipping me out and causing ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece t_lee... turned into quite a spacious bed. And in the main area there was a little sink, fridge, gas stove and lots of storage space - and there was even a bathroom in the middle. Very cool little boats. And so our crew was me, Dean, Erika, Dangerous Dave and Leanne (/ Lee). It was the best crew ever and we seriously had the most amazing time. But I'm getting ahead of myself! So Lee (our captain) had a meeting with the guys in charge of the sailing and all the other ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece t_leeThere is a town north of Corfu and it's really cool, but it's a village in some way.Though, I did visit the Corfu town and I must say it is AMAZING. All those fortresses and fancy resturants and bars were a total hit! Everybody was so relaxed, people aren't that stressed at all. I ...
Corfu Town, Ionian Islands, Greece indianabones... everyone else instead of going to Patras
-Tatum and friend sleep through arrival and end up in Patras (Smitty tried unsuccessfully to wake them up)
According to Bosh's mom in an email, the weather back home is "pittsy"
-Callahan reduced to tears when hearing about this
-brought to teams again minutes later upon discovering that "pittsy" was not a typo

... against Albanians. They started arguing about the history between the two countries and about some things that have happened (arrests, vandalism, killing, etc). Another student that didn't really say much seemed to be frustrated with the fact that we were asking political-type questions and just told us 'forget politics, lets talk about real things--things we care about and things that affect us'. We didn't really know what kind of issues there are that aren't political ...
Gjirokaster, Gjirokaster, Albania anp2... complicated history of Corfu, which has seen it invaded by Romans, Venetians, Huns, Slavs, Bulgars, Vandals, Goths, Byzantines, Normans, Germans, British, Russians, French (under Napoleon) and even Danes (albeit given to Prince William of Denmark by the British), has resulted in an almost paranoid fortification of the town to guard against sea attack. These are lit up impressively at night and now serve as a pleasant backdrop for the diners who sit at outdoor ...
