... we'll retire on one of these islands and set up a Greek phrase language school. Sadly, on Skiathos we no longer rub shoulders with Greeks on the beach but instead put up with lots of Brits, Italians, Russians, Italians and Swedes (although they're not too bad, especially the topless ones). We do however spot the local Greeks heading down to the waters as it gets cooler later in the day. All shapes and sizes, never bashful to wear bikinis ( even women in their 80s sport ...

... shop, which reminded us of Brendan's 'Fresh and Fruity", warm memories of days long gone. After yet another seafood stopover at a local taverna and our first sip of the funny cloudy liquid we went in search of the local hotspot. After not a great night of sleep ... A large breakfast, much needed for Parker. Taxi comes in a few to take us to airport. Another Ryan Air flight. Up and down no problems... Off we go to Rothenburg! Ends up being a wonderful evening! A quick stop at a beergarden for a couple beers and a traditional dish of potato noodles with saurcrout , bacon bits and gravy. A nice wall around town, Old Town Historic Walk, Night Watchman's Tour, Walk the Wall .... Off to bed in down comforters and ...

A travel blog entry by pbradham on Jul 05, 2014

Our last day in hydra started out with us waking around around 830. We made breakfast again and then hung out in the room until 11:30. We decided to see if we could catch the earlier boat out of the harbor. Luckily we were able to change it with 5 minutes to spare or we wouldn't have left until 3 hours later. We took a metro to the Athens train station. We grabbed a gyros to go then boarded the 5 hour train. ...

... Jutta, that asked us to join them at the local beach. The road leading there was too primitive for Harley, so we were so greatful for the ride. This picture perfect sandy beach was tucked into a small cove surrounded by high cliffs. To reach it you had to side step down about 50 feet of crude stairs. Beach, pool, beach, pool, beach, pool, that about sums it up.

After about five days of this we started reevaluating our next desirable destinations ...
