The German train system is on strike until Monday. That is all BUT the ICE (intercity express) trains. So we did catch our 6:45 AM train from Brussels to Frankfurt. It was a little eerie to see all the trains parked. There were a few running but in most of the stations, like Koln and Bonn, we were the only train.

We said hello and goodbye to germany very quickly as we had to rush through security and baggage claim and run to our terminal to catch the next flight! It was a long flight from Washington DC to here, about 10 hours! I cannot believe we will be in Turkey in just a few more!! Next stop: Istanbul, Turkey!
