... no one else on it. It was great to have the beach all to ourselves! An hour or so later some fishermen came along and Luke walked with them whilst they were throwing their line into the sea. He came back with a big friendly crab that let us pick him up. When we left the beach we had no idea where we were or how we would get back to our hotel. But then a nice indian man called Jithin stopped and asked us if we wanted a lift with him, he was going in the same direction so we jumped ...

I am smiling. Many of you have asked about the toilet. Ok...Ok....I'll tell you all about it, but if toilet makes you squeamish, skip this episode. It is in the mountains east of here. The Ghats. ...

... He wants to show me his treasures! Patients are coming and going in the clinic, and I'm examining a wonderful coin collection. And then he says...... "TWELTH PRESIDENT!" He takes my hand, bobs his head, and says...." Twelth President...Zachary Taylor." I'm a little perplexed and then he opens his album to his One Dollar American Presidential Coin Series. Perhaps you've seen them. Gold looking one dollar coins like the Sacajawea. But this is the ...

    The Theyyam Festival.

... he's excited to show me something unique in his delightful culture...the THEYYAM FESTIVAL. I tell him, "JuJu that it was my understanding that I'm too late. That the season for Theyyam ends at the start of monsoon. "Look outside pal, it's raining." I'm thinking that the best I can hope to experience is the Muslim Festival celebrated at the end of Ramadan, on August 8th, which is specifically WHY I've extended my departure from ...
