    Nice Hotel

As with all Chinese hotels, it seems, the beds were like ply wood covered with a sheet. This hotel gave four pillows which is the most I've ever seen. Also the rooms were very clean. In our room, we were able to watch movies on demand for free in English, but our friend's did not have this feature for some reason. Very close to the bus station, great restaurants, and the river. It's a great location.

... I had a whole hour, so I figured I could walk. In the rain. Yeah, great idea. It turned out OK, I made it to the station just in time for the train, but I was pretty soaked.

I had a bottom bunk and promptly fell right asleep. When I woke up we were just about in Guangzhou. I brought a peanutbutter sandwich so that was my breakfast (all cut up into pieces because of the braces). We arrived at 8 a.m. ish and I found the bus station right ...

... and threw some lemon grass, ginger and cilantro into the pot. Later, she threw in white fish, the local speciality that is farm raised in this area. The soup was absolutely delicious, and Lili had about 3 helpings. Then, the green veggies were passed around, along with a pot of rice. Lili finished with mango sorbet. What a great conclusion to our short visit to ...

... families, including children. We noticed in one of the markets that designer face masks were being sold, and many people here were wearing them to reduce the pollution intake. Both Lili and I have noticed our noses drying up, and hers particularly was sensitive to the pollution in Hong Kong. Anyway, back to New Year's Eve. We had a big table that included Mr. Guan, his wife, the aunt, son, the driver, the guide and us. The dishes started coming out, including fruit, ...
