This morning we were in Kona and after breakfast headed to the tender to go onshore. Our excursion was with Captain Zodiac Raft and Snorkel. Our captains name was Andy and the crew was Budda. They made sure we were safe and had an exciting time. We learned a bunch about the Hawaiian culture, geology and sea life as we made our way to the snorkel spot. This refuge we went to is now a national park. It was by the ocean and very beautiful. On the way we stopped at a painted little church. On the way back we stopped at a local hamburger place called Annie's Island Fresh Burgers for lunch and had wonderful hamburgers made of local beef. ...
We arrive at Kona were we are going on an excursion to see Historic Kona. We took the bus ride to see Historic Kona. We saw the Royal coffee bean plantation, were most of the coffee beans in Kona are prosesed. We also saw the Painted Church and then a National Park Pu'uhonua o Honanau which use to be a sanctuary for criminals. It started to rain so we went back to the boat.
