... s a physics prof at the U of S. and will be doing research at the weather observatory on the summit of Mauna Loa volcano. Back to the beach - Adam was wondering about good beaches for kids ("keiki" is the Hawaiian name for children). This beach is great for keiki- it's calm and clear, away from the surf in a protected cove. It's sandy, not rocky, and the water stays shallow for quite a ways out. ... another. This is a relaxing and rejuvenating time for her. REALLY?? 40 hours a week of housekeeping is relaxing Young?? Well I my self am so thankful to get to know her. We live in the same building as well with Kathy and do bump into each other once and a while.

... of the water volley ball game for the three matches. It was lot of fun and I met some great people. When I got back to the room, Andrew wondered where I got too and was surprised to hear what I got up too. Anyway I showered and lubed up my sunburn. ... the roadside and people wandering the flats and checking out a huge lava tube. But we kept on driving and ended up first in Kawaihae where we happened to stop at the nut house. Hamakua Macadamia Nut advertises that they have been creating flavored macadamia nuts since 1908. Fifteen or so flavors were out for sampling and we tried a lot of them. ... a great time together but the joy in my friends voice was wonderful.
OK, now I'm ready to head down to the big little town of Kona for the parade and fireworks.
This little small town parade reminded me of the ones growing up in Medical Lake, Cheney and Spokane. Lots of little kids, puppies, and floats that looked a lot like decorated pickups and cars. Oh yea, lots of politicians too.
