    Tai Chi Zero

Today we toured the beautiful ( and empty ) tai chi park and museum. It seems to have been designed with bus loads of tourists in mind, but we have only seen a few scattered souls. Nice to have it to ourselves, and the afternoon off from training to mark the half way point. Afterwards, Master Chen's son who leads the 8 ...

There are increasingly distinct kinds of things for breakfast and lunch. I have to confess I haven't actually made it to dinner yet, preferring a post-training shower, the day's laundry, and getting off my feet as quickly as possible. It was amazing to wake up and have morning practice in the training center. Everything feels different in context. 2.5 hours went by very quickly - I'm not sure if the dreamlike quality is due to being here or jet lag, but I'm really looking forward to the afternoon. With hot shower water, a nearby store to buy bottled water, a way to make coffee, and - perhaps the biggest surprise - truly delicious food, we are off to a good start on the ...

... 2:30. That was the end of June wedding. Following the wedding I went to a cafe where this lady gives free language lessons. These are some of the phrases I learned. Wo jiao Amanda Wo shi Lao shi = I am a teacher. Wo xi huan lvo you = I like to travel. Ni Hao = Hello In Chinese there are four tones to each character, therefore, depending on how you say a word, you might be saying something completely different than what you mean. The lessons are every Sunday for 2 ...
