The cabbie did the right thing. He stayed belted in his car and never extended a foot outside. Eventually he backed away and diffused the situation.

    Surreal indeed.

I am now safe inside the hotel. The only danger I faced now was not being able to programme the air conditioning to the correct temperature.

It's been a long and bizarre day here in Henan.

There were lots of interesting varieties of pizza, the usual like cheese and pepperoni, as well as some which looks like everything they had was just thrown on top. I was really good and a nice taste of home. I was able to give the children that we were with small gifts that I had brought along. The older girls picked their own headbands and actually wore them all night, which was great to see. The two boys ...

So we covered the basics of CPR and chocking as well as played out various scenarios in order to gain an idea of the proper response. Lunch was great! The egg and onion dish which became a staple for us on our trip last summer finally made an appearance and it was delicious. There was also a noodle soup which tastes just like ...
