... museum, we logically thought we'd easily catch two taxis back to the Hostel, where we had stored our luggage for the day. Our train, for which we had already purchased tickets, was scheduled to depart Hangzhou for Suzhou at 5:49 pm. Our tea tasting ended at 3:00 pm. That left us with plenty of time to get to the Hostel and catch the Metro out to the railway station. ...or so we thought. Not a single taxi would stop for us for no understandable reason. ...

I paid for my breakfast , and was given a microwaved white bread sandwich, which had a piece of fake pinkish bacon on it that was about the size of a 50 cent piece, and a soggy piece of lettuce. She also gave me a big glass of warm milk, and a bowl of weird rice soup stuff that tasted like moldy eggs... There was also a banana and boiled egg. I ate both of the last items and ran out the door to catch a bus.

We were really bummed to have to say "goodbye" to Carl (I was the most so). He had been a great companion and a great help (in translation and navigation and decision-making). But we said "goodbye" with the positive expectation of seeing him back in the states.
