Re Akrotiri. I had done a little research and would have been interested in a visit if we had had more time or had seen fewer historic sites in the last week. It is the excavation site of a Minoan Bronze age settlement that was ...

Walking up to it, it looked good. It looked large, cars board on the bottom and going inside there is a big open space, a lot of seats and above is first class. I was looking forward to a smooth 2.5 hour ride to Santorini, As soon as we were out of the bay, the waves hit. Massive massive waves. It was windy on the island but I never connected ...

... also took the cable car, while the others were still riding the donkeys. Alex and I then looked around Fira a bit before deciding to catch a taxi to the scenic town of Oia. That was an ordeal - either Santorini has a lack of taxis or they were all occupied due to the influx of cruise passengers. We could not find a taxi to save ourselves, then when we did they refused to take us that far. Finally a taxi agreed to take us to Oia but it felt like we were contestants on ...
