The Elephant Isle

... called from another part of the island to say that they couldn't get back. We set out, Scott and Jack in one, Sherri with Luke and Ritchie with his Dad in another. Despite choppy seas we soon made beach-fall on the island and had a poke around but there wasn't actually much to do and a cloud was moving between us and the shore, reducing visibility until we could no longer see home. With the waves even ...

Our time in Ko Chang

... trip to four smaller islands where I went snorkelling and Ang watched!!! Felt a bit green on the way back but Ang was at the front of the boat doing a kate Winslett from Titanic(a bit embarrasing but she loved it!!!)
Today it has been a torential rain storm, bearing in mind what is going on further south I think we have got away lightly.
Tomorrow we head back to Bangkok then to a seaside resort in Hu Huin although I think the weather is here to stay for a few more days.

Diving in Ko Chang

... here was bigger and it was a good swim through the coral. Both dives were very clear. My only problem was that I got blisters on the top of my toes from the fins. I guess my feet are use to flip flops. Well I've been here a week relaxing I think it's time I moved on to Trat, last stop before Cambodia.

Exit out of Cambodia and into Ko Chang

... god Shiva. It is built largely of red sandstone, a stone that allows for elaborate and decorative wall carvings. The buildings themselves are miniature in scale and are often thought of as a precious jewel in the Angkor crown. Our last temple was Banteay Samre which is located back at the complex area. It is another impressive temple to see but what charmed us was these two little Cambodian girls sitting inside the temple ...

Trat

... as in Bangkok, but very good value for money! Out shopping this morning, breakfast on the street - huey - some sort of rice balls with meat wrapped in banana leaves and grilled. I thought they were ok, Kristina almost chucked :) - something about the consistency. We're off to Koh Wai in a bit, staying there for the next 5 nights. It's a little island with not much more than a bunch of beaches and 4 guesthouses. That'll be New Years'...

Krasne plaze, dzungle a pohodicka, takze jsme si to pekne uzivali, pozorovali zapady slunce a relaxovali. Jeden den jsme si pujcili motorku a ...

In Paradise!

... fun time crashing in them hehe! It's not calm water that you can go take a leisurly swim in (but that's why we have the pool too!) The beach is also very very nice, although the sand isn't really white. We're staying on the section of the beach called "Lonely Beach"...there are very few people on it, even on a crowded day, so that is very nice also. We have really nice lounging chairs where we both read and relax! Since our resort is also a spa, Meagan has checked-out all ...

Ko Mak - Thailand

... of us particularly wanted to go but we had to get visas for our return to Taiwan and unfortunately in this part of S.E Asia it was either Bangkok or bust.

The remainder of the day was spent dozing in the shade of a rubber tree and playing cards on the beach. At some point I got chatting with the owner of the resort; a really cool dreadlocked Thai guy who looked more like the help than he did the owner. Eventually the conversation turned to music and we began discussing ...

... begin the arduous trek back towards civilization. We spent a couple of evenings eating at local restaurants and washing down the delicious local fare with inordinate amounts of chilled and tasty Singha beer. We had been warned to stay away from the notorious Beer Chang (a Thai mainstay) due to the rumour that it caused particularly vicious hangovers and frequent memory loss!! Where was I? Oh yes... We had intended to go to Ko Samet but had read, and been ...
