... up a Dutch Cook book that she and Michael had found for us. This was a special surprise and we really appreciated this thoughtful gesture. Amy and I had talked to them on Sunday about wanting to find a Dutch Cook book in English. Thank you so much Rose and Michael. It was a great privilege to celebrate Tante Marie's 100th birthday with her and with her health and state of mind I'm sure she will have many more to come. What an inspirational woman. After spending time at ...

... and one I would recommend. While at the museum we got a call from Nick Tol, Nick visited us during his 18 month backpacking tour of the world, Nick has organised for us to meet members of the Tol family who live in Venhuizen tomorrow but also came over to see us in Enkhuizen at 2pm. If you are ever in Enkhuizen and looking for a great place to eat or have a drink, this is ...

Walking around Enkhuizen which is quiet and relaxed is a nice change to the crowds in Amsterdam. This afternoon we visited Tante Marie. She is one amazing woman. At 100 years old she still has a very sharp mind and wit, moves around better than people 30 years her junior and is ...

Enkhuizen is such a picturesque little town and the weather is sensational. We were met at the train station by Riet, dad's cousin. She took us to her beautiful house and served us lunch consisting of Dutch soup and a hot bread (sausage roll). Both delicious. Can't wait to enjoy another home cooked Dutch meal with Riet & Jan tonight. We also met their ...
