    ... br> The auction was a lively, fast moving morning that lasted into the afternoon. We came home with some family memorabilia including an antique bottle opener from the New Oil Co. and a variety of Bob Dole election pins from his bid for senator and president. Bob is a cousin of ours several times removed.

    Happy with our newly acquired treasures and family get togethers, we're moving on to Kansas City to visit with two grandsons, Austin & Cory.

    We stopped by the Welcome/Visitor Center for Colorado and it was very welcoming, refreshing (103 degrees outside) and informative. We figured out the miles we still had to travel to get to Oregon and got some ideas of interesting things to do in CO but what we really wanted was to get to Conifer to see our friends Randy, Barbara, Ryan, Kayla and their dog Oreo.

I was delightlfully surprised to realize he had every step of Google Maps memorized and we settled into a mostly comfortable 60mph and happily let the crowds roar past.
