... some soccer fans (singing in our pub before they moved on, having a great time) and then we moved down the street for lunch. ... in Trier. I am anxious to see if I can find the apartment building where I lived when my Dad was stationed there in 1957. I never forgot the address or its general location. Stay tuned.

The weather has been staying mild and promises to stay so for a while longer. We are looking forward to our trip south and back to some of the old haunts (especially the gasthofs). We will photo some of the finer culinary delights.

... the Canadian Support Unit in Geilenkirchen. Dan and I served together in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia back in the mid-90s.

Our next blog will feature some photos around their little town of Gilrath and of the Roach family.
Apparently we can even FT from their home so once I post this blog, I may try a quick FT with some folks.

... The bikes had just been serviced and carriers fitted which take Toni & Llewen's panniers nicely. So we are so fortunate and grateful to have all this gear available. Later in the morning the weather improves so out with bikes and off to town, 12km away. We take the wrong track at first, down by the river which is just a little narrow dirt track, but soon find our way back onto the nice wide hard paved track on top of the stop bank very similar to those found in France. ... not understand him when he spoke English. I could honestly understand his German better and my German is not that advanced. They have headphones provided for various foreign languages, but if English is your native language, you are at a disadvantage in my opinion.
