I boarded the ferry at the port of Piraeus. The ferries are huge, you walk on and find a place to sit our your journey. I need to be outside as I dont travel well on the water :-)) but sea sick pills are available at the bar! The trip to Mykonos (via Paros) was beautiful... the see is so so blue. It took approximately 5 hours to reach Mykonos and just like the brochure the house and stores are white and blue. The windmills look just like the brochures. I stayed at the K Hotel complex about a ...

Delos is an incredibly interesting place. The entire island is a collection of ruins where no one is allowed to stay on the island overnight so everyone who visits are day trippers—most of whom are staying in Mykonos. It was an excellent day for exploring ruins at just over 60F degrees it was cool and pleasant. There is a lot to explore on the island so be sure to leave enough time to see it all.

There are no complete building standing, but ...
Delos, Cyclades, Greece mylifesjourneyIt’s a little cool outside for a party island that is famous for its nude beaches and all-night dance clubs. This is the first time that I wished we were visiting Greece during the tourist season since the town almost feels empty and the beaches deserted.

This is ...
Mykonos, Cyclades, Greece mylifesjourney... I can remember last year when the city of San Francisco had to create a secret path to avoid protesters extinguishing the flame. And tomorrow I get to see where it all starts and always has started. So cool.

I think I'm going to quit while I'm on a flitty note. And start preparing yourself for the mass of photos that will be coming your way next week from the cruise. Thank goodness for this fabulous camera!

Kalli Spera!! (Which is Good day! in Greek.)

Naxos, Cyclades, Greece malena.drela... bed. The cabin staff are Filipinos and Indonesians with the restaurant staff being mostly the latter, so I was able to chat with them in their native tongue, much to their surprise.
There was a mandatory lifeboat drill just before departure and we sailed out of Piraeus harbour at five in the afternoon.
Our first meal in the main dining room (La Fontein) was excellent and the dining room is ...
Mediterranean Sea, Greece karana... brought it back to the ship...glad we only bought ONE piece!!! Some of the strange things we saw today...a man and his goat doing tricks on the sea wall ....a HUGE pelican that was ignoring everybody...tons of cats all over the town...people leave food out on their steps for them...a big old dog who wouldn't get out of the road for cars to go by..calamari on the menu EVERYWHERE ... Mykonos Town, Cyclades, Greece sscaswellTook the hydroplane from Santorini to Mykonos. Stayed right on the beach and the cruise ships docked right down the beach. Island topography not as dramatic as Santorini but very nice. Surprised how dry and little vegetation on both islands. Got my whole body in the Mediterranean not just my feet (no pictures of that !!)
Mykonos Town, Cyclades, Greece pathenger... beach, fitting as many people as possible plus a few more! After a bumpy and uncomfortable hill ride, we rolled up to the camping beach. Our accomodation was a bungalo that looked more like a chicken coup or a dog kennel, but it was clean and most importantly CHEAP! We made the rest of our delicious Greek salad and hit the beach. We spent a relaxing afternoon catching the Greek Isles' rays. Our group met up at 5:00 to get our first real taste of Mykonos town ...
Mykonos Town, Cyclades, Greece jjberttravels... very special. I like the style of the buildings, the music I heard in the plane and the warm and friendly people I've met along the trip.
