... destination particularly for Russians (we had been told that Thailand was the #1 vacation spot for Russians by a guy we’d met at the Russian embassy in Bangkok).

The beaches here are very nice, clean and deceptively long. If the diving is half as good as is reputed it’s no wonder vacationers flock here and expats often stay or return to work in the tourism industry. The flip side of Phuket is definitely seedier. Once dusk settled ...
