Great hotel for business travelers
I recently stayed at the JW Marriott for a few days for a conference.
The hotel is new- and is really nice. The service is excellent and the hotel itself is luxurious.
I would recommend it for business travelers because it has great amenities ($9.95 a day hi-speed internet and long distance) and close to the airport
Best Resort Service Around
I stayed at the JW Marriott for a weekend and have never seen such a service oriented staff! Every empolyee I encountered made me feel so welcome that I almost forgot I was in Florida. From the minute you arrive on the front drive to the moment you depart, the staff goes beyond friendly. The Food was also incredible. This resort did an excellent job training their staff to be attentive and understanding of what great hospitality is all about.
-in response to the parking fee. I think $7self and $14 is very understandable for the clientele this property is targeting. It makes it easier to keep those curious visitors away for the exclusivity of its resort/convention guests!
Believe me the service alone is well worth the curiosity.
Upscale comfortable furnishings, lush & spectacular poolside
We just returned from this new hotel and it is by far the best! If you travel with a family, it is so huge those without children won't even notice. If you want to be pampered, a Spa is available.Their poolside is the largest we've ever visited! There is a stream that "flows" among the MANY pools that are located at back of hotel on west side for afternoon sun. But if you prefer shade, there are so many tropical trees or umbrellas, that you can find a quiet, shady spot. You can also relax on a tube on this leisurely flowing stream that just carries you around.Staff are all so friendly, helpful & accomodating. We'd go back tomorrow! Temps in 80's.15-20 minutes to Disney.
Grand Lakes has it all
I travel alot for during the year. JW Marriott Grand Lakes has everything a couple or busieness traveler needs. Excellent dining, pool is a class act. And a fabulous Golf course. If you have a trip to Orlando planned don't miss this one.
This is the all-around best hotel I've ever experienced. It is beautiful inside and out and clean, clean, clean! The staff here was the most attentive I've ever seen and when they found out it was my birthday, they sent up treats 2 nights in a row (chocolate covered strawberries first, champagne on the second). I loved the marble and glass bathrooms too! And, oh, the beds - they were so comfy with a heavy down comforter. The workout room was large and had all the amenities one could want AND, unlike many of the nicer hotels these days, there isn't an added fee just to use it (which I detest!!) If I had to find a complaint at all, I would have to copy the comment made by an earlier reviewer -- the sales pitch hidden behind the friendly staff member. They got me 2 days in a row with the pitch. The Starbucks inside the hotel is fantastic and has a great view of the pool. I walked over to the Ritz next door just to get a look, and, frankly, I think the Marriott's decor is much nicer (less stuffy). To the person who said they need a food court - you're nuts - a place this classy doesn't need to be "dumbed down" with a food court. The Primo restaurant was gorgeous and we got a romantic table with the candles around us. The scallop entree was superb and they have great wines by the glass. All in all, I could not have been more impressed!
Beautiful hotel, great pool and fabulous golf
We spent the labor day holiday at this lovely resort. The grounds and hotel are beautiful with a great pool and outstanding Ritz-carlton golf course. Since it is linked to the Ritz and guests can enjoy their pool and fitness facilities. Overall service was very attentive and all of our food was quite good. Disappointed with the pool grill service- slow with taking orders and even slower with delivering drinks and food; seemed to be understaffed at pool. Also wished the hotel shuttle visited nearby sites more frequently. Still a great place and we would definitely return.
Stayed at the newly opened JW Marriott for 4 nights - 5 days... beautiful hotel. Very clean rooms and very comfortable. Food is great (a bit expensive though), it would be great if there was a food court --but the restaurants were very good; pool the best - outdoor heate pool - outdoor pool restaurant food was good. 1st day service was so slow that they gave us a plate full of coctail shrimp for the wait. Service was great - had no problems. a very nice family hotel - a very nice kiddy pool. We would definitley stay there again. enjoy..
Enjoyed our family friendly stay
This hotel was opened in July 03 so is very new. It is in a beautiful setting adjoined with the Ritz Carlton. Service is really good overall. Valet is a bit aggressive the second you pull in the lot (after a long drive I felt like just give me a minute jeez!) Bell hops were very friendly and helpfull. Valet is 14/day and self park is 7/day which is a bit crazy being that it is their own lot. (one of the negatives)but... Internest access is available at 10/day with free long distance and local calls a package deal. I though it was misleading that they say internet acess but then you have to pay more for it. (negatiave #2). I think the final negative is that they try to sell you "vacation villas" (aka timeshares) at two locations in the hotel. A nice person seems to offer some nice pleasantries or advice then starts the sales pitch. While it is not the end of the world but...for such a nice, classy in appearance hotel, a bit sleazy. I'm nn vacation for gods sake! The rooms were very nice average size for a couple with a one year old. Nice bathrooms and very clean. The restaurants are great and quite accomadating for changes if you request for children. There is a great pub out by the gulf course that serves breakfast and lunch. So far no one really knows about it and this beautiful place is all your for breakfast! They have a playground with sand box, a kiddi pool, and then a zero depth entry pool into the lazy river. It is a very nice area. Bike rentals were a blast! Room service was great and presented nicely (of course for the price we should expect so! I would come back here. The crowd is nice, employees pleasent and eager to please. We enjoyed just hanging out at the hotel. You can also use the Ritz facilities and dining which is about the same in offerings. I highly recommend this to a family looking for some R & R.
My family and I frequent Orlando hotels and this was definetly the best. Everyone was very willing to fill our needs. From the time we checked in to the time we left we were completely satisfied. The rooms were impecable and well worth the cost. The lazy river was magnificent and so was the poolside service. The hotel restuarants and room service were great. Next time we want a weekend away we will definetly stay at the J.W. Plan to relax and have them take care of you.
Loved the JW Marriott
I recently stayed one night at the JW Marriott in Orlando while traveling on business and found it very affordable and very elegant.
The hotel had only been open only 17 days when I arrived, but it had the warmth and charm and service that seemed years in the making. The river-pool was awsome, if you can't relax here, you need to check your priorities in life. The only bothersome things were that the hot water was not hot enough for my liking and the chair at my desk did not go down. I found the unlimited the high-speed internet and phone package for $10 very helpful and cheap for expediting my workload. Whether on business or pleasure, this is a great place to stay in Orlando.
