Historical Traveler Reviews Jw Marriott Dubai

Gutes altes Hotel

from anonymous

from anonymous

Pure luxury at Christmas

from anonymous

Stayed here over xmas 05 and absolutely loved it. Staff were so friendly, food was great and the hotel itself was beautiful. We stayed in an executive suite which was amazing and well worth the extra money especially because of the fabulous executive lounge that served free food and drink all day. They put on a brilliant Christmas dinner with carol singers, a santa etc. Had some of the best back massages of my life in the spa. Visited some of the other hotels which all seemed very niceand luxurious but for me JW had a bit of extra character.

Brilliant Hotel

from anonymous

I stayed in the JW Marriott for a week at the start of November with my Fiance to celebrate our engagement. I have to say we both really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The rooms were big and bright and the concierge was absoluteley briiliant to us with tips on where to go and when. Will definitly look up the JW the next time I am in Dubai.

Good old hotel

from anonymous

I have been in the JW a few times in Dubai and with pleasure. The rooms are big, clean, well equiped and the restaurants are good, the Lebanese restaurant is one of the best in town so they say and the amazing Atrium makes the hotel unique (Gaylord Opryland Nashville look-a-like roof) and the Germany copy of the Hofbrauhaus is great ! The HB beer (weizen) is fresh from "fass", better that than the standard beers which you can get in any hotel. The hotel is an old hotel but it has some of charm with in the evening Ferrari's, Bentley's and Lamborchini's parking in front, always nice to look at !

Downtown Paradise

from anonymous

Dubai is gorgeous enough, it doesn't need the JW but thank goodness it exists. The rooms are large. The beds are comfortable. The internet connection is easy and affordable. Nice robes....nice tub. The fruit changeover at 1900 was nice so was the bed turndown. There's a steak restaurant (bring a jacket), a sports bar (go for the burger ad play pool undtil the soccer game starts) and a mall connected (haggling is expected and respected).. The bar in the courtyard is a keeper. Just stay here and you'll see. Great location and price (under 200 a night).

J.W.'s Steakhouse is a Must!

from JohnUSNSD

Hotel goes above and beyond! Everything in the Hotel is 5-star.

Now, as for J.W.'s.....this is one *OUTSTANDING* steakhouse. Pricy and worth every single cent! From start to finish, nothing is lacking. Huge leather chairs, huge tables (with your name on a placard with "bull" horns). Wine selection immpecable. My first trip in Dec 2005, I took a party of 12 with me. I was so impressed and overwhelmed that on my next trip to Dubai in Jan 2005, I brought a party of 22 with me. There is no better steak dinner in Dubai! Look no further than JWs.

Excellent Hotel

from Trashed

This is one of the most amazing hotels I have visited. The hotel itself is vast, there are various restaurants and bars both the Italian and sports bar are excellent. The hotel is very grand and the service excellent. All the staff are very friendly. The rooms are very large and have all the extra's that make a trip special. The only downside to this hotel is location as it is a fair distance to the creek, the hotel arranges taxi's and buses to the beach every day or there is the roof top swimming pool. Taxi's are very easy to get and are the best way to get around the city.

Big & Beautiful

from anonymous

Location: Dubai is a small city anyway, but JW Marriott is a bit far from city attractions.

Room: Big & Beautiful, loved it.

Staff: very friendly.

Facilities: this hotel has some of the most famous restaurants in Dubai.

Amazing growth in Dubai

A relatively new tourist destination, Dubai has gained in popularity in recent years. It is essentially a desert city with superb infrastructure, liberal policies (by regional standards), and excellent tourist amenities. Just 5 hrs from Europe and 3 hrs from most parts of the Middle East, the Near East, and the sub-continent of India, Dubai makes a …

Well, maybe I'm not as good at escaping jet lag as I thought. Or, maybe I miss seeing my sweetheart too much. I call Gloria but Skype doesn't want to cooperate. In any event, after falling asleep at 10:30, I was awake at 3:30. I watched a bit of Jamie Foxx playing Ray Charles and a bit of CNN and did a Sudoku puzzle or two but there was no slumber …
