JW Marriott Hotel Dubai
Travel Blogs from Dubai
Today/yesterday (it all ran together) was really long! Travel went about as smooth as possible, although it was long. Since talking with Mr. Dave Mitchell and some members of the supplier relationship team, I have really tried to think about the many aspects of travel from the supplier relationship standpoint.
I am very excited to start …
Yesterday, we left the hotel at 7:45 to go to Dubai and visit Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, which is the largest mosque in the region. It was the first time I had been to a mosque and it was a very fascinating experience. Before entering, Kendra and I had to wear long black robes to fully cover our bodies and hair. As a result, we could barely stand …
It is only day two and I learned so much about the region and culture. This is majorly thanks to conversations with Firas, who participates in our programme here in Dubai. He is travel manager at Salalah port in Oman. Apparently, Salalah is the place to go to at the Arabian Peninsula, as it is very green and rather mild during summer months - an …
Yesterday, we visited the Emirates Group Headquarters. We met the VP of Corporate Sales and Key Account Development Manager Global Sales.
Emirates is the number one UAE airline and currently owns the world's largest fleet of A380s. Another 200 planes have already been ordered. So what makes the A380 so special? Next to its size, it has top …
Day one has not even ended but we have already learned a lot. ATW80 kicked off with a warm welcome from Matt Burruss, who is part of the ACTE team and leads our programme here in Dubai. Moreover, we met Sitarah Sherazee, a Travel Specialist for MSD Pharmaceuticals, who has lived most of her life in Dubai. We also met Firas, a Travel Manager at …

Gutes altes Hotel
Pure luxury at Christmas
Stayed here over xmas 05 and absolutely loved it. Staff were so friendly, food was great and the hotel itself was beautiful. We stayed in an executive suite which was amazing and well worth the extra money especially because of the fabulous executive lounge that served free food and drink all day. They put on a brilliant Christmas dinner with carol singers, a santa etc. Had some of the best back massages of my life in the spa. Visited some of the other hotels which all seemed very niceand luxurious but for me JW had a bit of extra character.
I stayed in the JW Marriott for a week at the start of November with my Fiance to celebrate our engagement. I have to say we both really enjoyed staying at the hotel. The rooms were big and bright and the concierge was absoluteley briiliant to us with tips on where to go and when. Will definitly look up the JW the next time I am in Dubai.
Good old hotel
I have been in the JW a few times in Dubai and with pleasure. The rooms are big, clean, well equiped and the restaurants are good, the Lebanese restaurant is one of the best in town so they say and the amazing Atrium makes the hotel unique (Gaylord Opryland Nashville look-a-like roof) and the Germany copy of the Hofbrauhaus is great ! The HB beer (weizen) is fresh from "fass", better that than the standard beers which you can get in any hotel. The hotel is an old hotel but it has some of charm with in the evening Ferrari's, Bentley's and Lamborchini's parking in front, always nice to look at !
Dubai is gorgeous enough, it doesn't need the JW but thank goodness it exists. The rooms are large. The beds are comfortable. The internet connection is easy and affordable. Nice robes....nice tub. The fruit changeover at 1900 was nice so was the bed turndown. There's a steak restaurant (bring a jacket), a sports bar (go for the burger ad play pool undtil the soccer game starts) and a mall connected (haggling is expected and respected).. The bar in the courtyard is a keeper. Just stay here and you'll see. Great location and price (under 200 a night).
J.W.'s Steakhouse is a Must!
Hotel goes above and beyond! Everything in the Hotel is 5-star.
Now, as for J.W.'s.....this is one *OUTSTANDING* steakhouse. Pricy and worth every single cent! From start to finish, nothing is lacking. Huge leather chairs, huge tables (with your name on a placard with "bull" horns). Wine selection immpecable. My first trip in Dec 2005, I took a party of 12 with me. I was so impressed and overwhelmed that on my next trip to Dubai in Jan 2005, I brought a party of 22 with me. There is no better steak dinner in Dubai! Look no further than JWs.
This is one of the most amazing hotels I have visited. The hotel itself is vast, there are various restaurants and bars both the Italian and sports bar are excellent. The hotel is very grand and the service excellent. All the staff are very friendly. The rooms are very large and have all the extra's that make a trip special. The only downside to this hotel is location as it is a fair distance to the creek, the hotel arranges taxi's and buses to the beach every day or there is the roof top swimming pool. Taxi's are very easy to get and are the best way to get around the city.
Big & Beautiful
Location: Dubai is a small city anyway, but JW Marriott is a bit far from city attractions.
Room: Big & Beautiful, loved it.
Staff: very friendly.
Facilities: this hotel has some of the most famous restaurants in Dubai.
