... enough that we figured that was the only thing it could've possibly meant (typical of attempted translations we'd seen here).   We had hoped there'd be food in the station, or drink at least, but there was nothing other than hot water. Good thing we had bought some ramen-style noodles a while back. One pack tasted really chemical, so we threw it out. The others weren't too bad. The main reason for the stop (apart from food and pandas) was to meet up with a close friend of Tom who is studying at a Chinese culinary school. We enjoyed sampling the food and the nightlife with an in-the-know guide.

The bus from Gengma got in at 7am which means we made good time in only 12 hours. Luckily there is a city bus that runs right into the center of town where I reserved a room so I didn't have to get a taxi. Travel in Kunming can take a long time and get hectic.

After making it to the Hump Hostel and getting my room I took out my computer to get some work done. Of course the moment I leave home my computer charger/cord stops working. Then after ...
