Good Value

Stayed for two nights recently, reception staff very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Only problem was a bit of a buzz during the night from the air con even though I had switched it off. Location was good with everything within reasonable walking distance and a metrolink (tram) stop very nearby. All in all a very good 3* hotel.

Give it a miss

I found Jury's Inn after some difficulty. It is down a side street. As stated by some correspondents, the reception area is fine but behind the scenes it looks like a clinic. The room on the second floor was big enough. But the lighting was dismal and the little things were missing: No remote control; no biscuits; no shampoo; rough towels; and no Sky Sports. I wanted to watch my favourite team who were playing that night but because there was only Sky Sports in the crappy downstairs bar, I had to go there. The tv was a little one in the corner and couldn't be heard for the atrociously-loud headbanging music they were playing. A small glass of white wine was £3. I went to the pub next door.

The worse thing was I ordered an alarm call from reception for early the following morning. I needed this for a job I was doing. They never rang. I think this stinks. It could cost someone a job. Won't be going back to Jury's Inn again.

Mislead.. and then drew at the footy!

My Partner and myself were visiting Manchester for a w/end away from London and also to visit Old Trafford. We arrived at Jurys and indeed we were faced with a very impressive entrance. However once inside, things went down-hill rather rapidly! I discovered at check-in that we were not expected that night at all, even though I had a print-out confirmation of my booking! I was actually asked "was I sure I had the right night.." and once again I had to produce my confirmation. Waiting for something to be done, I enquired what time their Health Club closed as this was a main amenity advertised. It was there I was told they didn't have one! We eventually got a room arranged. Upon entering the room.. a bad rotting smell hit us and we walked into a room that was the size of a shoe box! The bathroom had a the most distinctive smell which was not pleasant and our window faced out onto the hotel bin/rubbish area. To escape the nightmare we went to the bar which was really very grubby and dirty and not at all well maintained. I didn't want to drink there let alone try the food! The next morning we were awoken at 6:30 by the bins being emptied from outside our window.. the noise just went on and on! To be honest, we wanted a good hotel and be able to enjoy it's facilities. Instead we had the opposite! We paid over £60 for the experience and have paid far less money to stay in much better places! We will not be returning..

I stayed in worse!

The jurys inn was certainly impressive from the outside and although fairly central remarkably quiet. Reception was welcoming however problems upon checking inn. The reception staff wre very plesant however duty manager was very po-faced and unhelpful. Room was ok if not a little sanitary, wasnt really expecting a lot so wasnt too let down howvever felt that the room rate was rather pricey for the standard of accomodation offered

Money well spent on reception but....

my boyfriend and i stayed at the jurys inn manchester for an early valentines weekend. our first night was very noisy as our room was directly outside the lifts and the room faced the main road where there seemed to be buses coming and going all night long. the room was clean although we feel they could've spent some money on making the decore more modern. the bathroom was clean and we always had hot water. the free hot english breakfast was great, you had a wide choice of food hot and cold, although tip is get to breakfast early. the hotel is very close to transport and the heart of town. overall i would recommend this hotel for a lads weekend away but if you want a lovely romantic weekend away pay the little extra for a modern hotel.

Interesting smelling room...

I arrived at The Jury's Inn with great optimism for my eight day stay

at the company's expense. After all, an impresive entrance hall greeted

me. From then all it was all downhill. Having got past the

receptionist, who had no record of my booking, I eventually got to my

small, basic, trouserpressless room. It sadly smelt - of urine! Judging

by the state of the bathroom that clearly hadn't been cleaned properly

for weeks I was not surprised. After a gentle nudge, the housekeeper

inspected my filthy bathroom. The verdict? "I can smell something, but

it definitely isn't urine. No it faintly smells like chicken curry".

"Of what?, I retorted." "Of chicken curry" she replied, without a trace

of a snigger in her voice. Next time I am at my local Indian and my

chicken tikka masarla smells of ****, I needent worry.

Not worth the money!

I stayed at this hotel for one night. I was impressed with the communal areas, but the room was of a poor standard - very small, drab decor, looked worn and one of the curtains was hanging off the rail! The room and bathroom were clean, but just didn't look welcoming. Definitely a "budget" type room rather than mid-range. For the same price (£50 per night, room only) there are better options such as Travelodge or Premier Lodge. However if a special deal was available at Mal Maison or the Copthorne then I'd rather pay a little bit extra and stay there.

The hotel is centrally located so very convenient for shopping, restaurants, bars etc. However I don't think I'd stay here again.

A Stay at Jurys Inn Manchester

On arriving at Jurys Inn Manchester in July 2002, first impressions were very good. The entrance and reception area were impressive and, having seen various articles and photos about the place from the net beforehand, I had an idea in my mind what my bedroom would look like. However, when I entered my room, I was very disappointed to be greeted by a very small room with squalid decor, and looking out at a solid brick wall. The TV remote control didn't work either ! Lets face it, at £65 per night you expect more than this ! Breakfast was the next shock ! When I arrived for breakfast I was informed that breakfast was not included in the cost (I clearly remember reading somewhere on the Net that a continental breakfast was included in the £65 per night cost). However, on asking about this I was informed that this was not the case and that the cost of a full English breakfast would be £8.50 and Continental breakfast something like £7.50. I thought all this was extortionate. However, I opted for the full English breakfast and wished I hadn't. Their fried eggs were like rubber and the bacon had been cooked far too long and was inedible. All in all my opinion of Jurys Inn Manchester was that it was a lot of money for very little. When I revisit Manchester I will definitely be staying somewhere else !
