Historical Traveler Reviews of Jurys Inn Limerick
What a dive!

Ugh! If I had known how horrible the hotel was going to be I would have happily slept on the street, it would have been an improvement.
I don't know why but apparently the staff at Jurys see it as perfectly ok to not clean the rooms properly after each stay.
I found a condom wrapper(!!) in behind the toilet which was in plain sight, the bedspread smelled like a wet dog and the amount of hairs in the bathroom was incredible. Jurys need to start retraining staff ASAP because they have lost one customer here already.
The bar leaves a lot to be desired but breakfast, although served in a glorified canteen, was lovely.
The receptionist on check in as wonderful a different receptionist who was on duty when I checked actually let out a really snotty sigh when I asked for change of a 5 euro note.
The location is wonderful. I found it to be quite quiet at night but I am a very heavy sleeper.
All in all I won't be returning to the run down and dirty hotel but if youre young and just don't care about cleanliness or service then Jurys Inn is the place for you.
Surprising find

I am surprised by the negative feedback about this hotel. I only stayed one night, but I was pleased with it. The rates were reasonable, 90E on a Saturday night. There's nice restaurants and pubs w/in walking distance. The rooms weren't fancy, but they were clean & comfortable. Our room had a nice view of the river. All in all, I was pleasantly surprised.
Very mediocore

I stayed at Jury's Inn for 3 nights in May of last year.
I found it to be below average -- the rooms were shoddy and lacking in a lot of basic amenities. (e.g. there was no alarm clock/clock-radio in my room!) The bar and restaurant downstairs were very uninspired. Fortunately, the hotel location is fairly central, and there are more interesting options nearby.
And, to summarize my experience -- I accidentally left my camera behind in the bar at closing time. When I asked the staff about the camera the following day, I found them to be unhelpful and uninterested, and (needless to say) the camera did not show up.
In conclusion, I'd be reluctant to stay at Jury's again, despite the reasonable rates & location.
Such a shame

I stayed in this hotel for 1 night only.... the hotel itself looks nice on the outside, the rooms are basic but clean (they advertise that all rooms have sky...this is not true- all that is extra is sky one!).. generally ok but a very run-of-the mill hotel. My colleague and I each had our own room, she was allocated a room twice the size of mine although we had paid the same rate?? a bit odd I thought!
My main gripe about this hotel is that although the location is quite good (not the best by far) it is impossible to sleep... after all, isn't that why you ultimately check-in to a hotel?? I woke up the next day (as I had all throughout the night) feeling that my head had not so much as touched the pillow!!!
It started with the sirens (to be expected in any city) but they were almost constant throughout the night, followed by drunks kicking rubbish carts at the back of the hotel (where my room was located) and to top it off they had a brewery delivery at 6:40 sunday morning!!!!
If the hotels location was different it could be sooo much better (not likely though eh?) it is a "stag and hen" hotel...so be warned!! :-(
Tired Hotel, but OK

Stayed in a few Jury Inn's and I must rank this as not one of it's better ones, the hotel has a very worn feel about it, the standard of cleaning isn't great, but OK. This was my first visit to Limerick and won't hurry back, the most unfriendly city in Ireland, if you have to stay in Limerick make it short, and this hotel will fit the bill, don't expect a great hotel, most of the view will be blocked by a new building next door that's being built which wil block out everything. It is a good value short stay hotel.
Good Value
from Vacatlover
Jury's Inn was a good value (75 Euro for 3 people per night). It is one of the few chains that offers sleeping accommodations for 3 in real beds, not cots. The room is of ample size, with a nice closet and shelving space giving plenty of room for all of our clothes and luggage. Other than that, it's nothing fancy, but it was clean and comfortable. Breakfast at 9 Euro a piece is expensive, but across the street there is a great place called Londis which has excellent pastries and even a full Irish breakfast at much less cost which you can eat at the tables outside the store. Bottled water and other necessities can be found here as well.
What a view!!

Whoa! Hold on !!! I just flew home from Shannon last weekend and I spent 5 nights at the Jurys Inn in Limerick. First of all - it's an Inn bang smack in the middle of the City and we had superb view of the river (on the top floor) but you have to ask for it. Secondly - You get what you pay for and for my husband and our daughter for only $90 a night!!!!!! It was great value and our rooms were spotless. They got direct dials, tv and a shower like no other. If your looking for 4-5 star then expect to pay over the odds in other places. But the Jury Inn definately got our vote.

What a horrible little hotel. We had booked to stay here for 4 nights but checked out after the first night and went to a fantastic hotel around the corner.
Unbelievably there was a funny smell in our room too. The carpet hadnt seen a vacuum for days and the room was just dirty. I dont know how old Jurys is but they need to update their rooms.
The staff were friendly but when we asked to speak to a manager we were told there was none there just some girl who looked like she was only on the job about 2 days.
The best thing Jurys has going for it is location, but there are other hotels in the same area with much much higher standards.
Cheap but not so cheerful

have stayed in Jurys Inn a number of times, it is very cheap and central but it getting a bit rough around the edges, the furnishing is getting worn and there was an awful smell in our room the last time we stayed there.
Great value for money!!

The Jurys Inn Limerick offers excellent value for money. Prices start from 49 Euro. I booked on the day of arrival and was quoted 75 Euro over the phone, however, when I checked their Internet site I got a price of 59 Euro, saved a nice 16 Euro for a few extra minutes work.
You might need this for the parking, between 5 to 10 Euro for overnight parkiing in an adjacent car park. The rooms are spacious and great value for the price. Try and get a room to the front of the building with fantastic views of the river Shannon. Although if its a good night sleep you want then this side of the hotel not for you, it is quite noisy with not too much soundproofing on the windows. So, if you are on a tight budget this is the place to stay!!!
