Today has been the best day so far on this tour! We started the day with a city tour with our local guide Phil. She was amazing.....so funny and she had a lot of great history and information about the city of Dublin. We saw all the sites from the bus so it was a great way to do an orientation of the city.
After completing our city tour, …
This morning we did a tour of Dublin. A beautiful city with lots of history and famous people coming from Dublin. These include Johnathon Swift (Gullivers Travels), Oscar Wilde, Daniel Day Lewis, U2 just name a few. It's the home of the Guinness family of the beer fame. They seem like an amazing family who have done so much for Dublin over the …
Whooo! I have finally arrived in Dublin! I am so excited! After 30 hours travelling and three different time zones I am exhausted. So glad I do not have to see another plane for at least a week! Tonight, I just had dinner and stayed at the hotel. Tomorrow, I start exploring and in the afternoon my tour starts.
... to try on, questions to answer and where Dublin's history is made fun and interesting. I found this really interesting, particularly the archaeology aspects of the History Hunters exhibition where they explain the process of uncovering and preserving Dublin and Ireland's history. While there I also climbed to the top of St Michael's Tower which gives great views over the city. There's also some lovely stained glass in the Synod Hall which ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Jurys Inn Dublin Parnell Street
Perfect -- simple, clean, affordable. Great location
We certainly felt that this hotel was worth the money. €89 per night for a triple was among the best rates we found for Dublin. While the double bed was a little small, the single bed was a generous size. Our room was a reasonable size, too. It was clean and in good condition, as was the entire hotel -- rather new and done in a modern decor with simply clean lines (more Ikea than Terrance Conran, but perfectly nice). As Americans, we're used to more amenities in the bathrooms (soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc.), but had luckily brought our own toiletries. We found the location of this hotel HUGELY convenient to the O'Connell Street Dublin Bus Airlink stop that takes you to/from the airport. It was a short and fun walk to Temple Bar just across the Liffey; we enjoyed being able to cross a different bridge each time. There is a pharmacy, the post office and a convenience store on the way to/from the Liffey, so we never had to go out of our way to pick up things we needed. The staff was nice and there was a security guard most times, which helped us feel safer in an unfamiliar city. Also, we had no problems with street noise so we had a wonderful & restful night's stay. I would stay here again and recommend it highly. It made me interested in visiting the other hotels in their chain, too.
Have stayed at this hotel twice in the last two months. Service was excellent, location was good and the rooms were bright, spacious and clean. Airlink bus stop is just around the corner on O'Connell Street so very handy indeed. I would definitely recommend this hotel - it was 79 euro for a room that could sleep up to three adults. Worth registering your email address at the Jury's website to be updated with latest offers. Only down side was the view from our room - it was looking out onto a building site, although there was no noise or disturbance so don't let that put you off.
Very good. location perfect
brand new hotel, clean rooms and great location. only gripe was turning up 3 hours before check in only to be told I had to wait even though the hotel was only 25% full... room was available but was told if I want it i must pay for it...sad people.....
A nice place to stay
The Jurys Inn is a great place to stay. The bar staff and reception staff are helpful and friendly. The rooms are clean, comfortable and a good size. My only moan is the bed was smaller than a double and the room just felt a bit bare. However the location is covenient and you really are able to walk everywhere. My boyfriend and I would certainly stay there again.
Great, must stay
We stayed at the Jury's Inn Parnell Street for 4 nights over New Years Holiday 2005 and found the hotel to be one of the best in Ireland. The Hotel was well appointed, very clean with a helpful staff. Room rate was good, bar and food were also very good. Hotel is located in a good part of town and we walked everywhere. It was easy to get to and from the airport. We will stay here again.
Excellent - Go there!!
Great hotel, great value for money, modern and lovely staff!! We stayed at the jurys Inn for 2 nights and for 3 of us it cost approx £20 a night each! The rooms were good sized and very clean. Not very nice view but didnt bother us too much. There was a restaurant and bar that served food too, which was delicious. The location was great, just 2 minutes from the shops and 10 mins from the Temple bar. Staff were always friendly and ready to help, especially as we has an early flight on the way in which meant getting to the hotel at 9 am for 2pm check-in but they let us go straight up. Would 100% recommend!!
This is a great hotel if you want to be close to the City Centre. Just off O'Connell Street, you have plenty of shops nearby, and the Airport link stops within 5 minutes walk. Temple Bar is a good 10 minutes away, but the walk is pleasant enough, so you don't need the bus.
Got a rate of 90 euros per night. Very nice rooms and a great view of the Dublin Needle as well as the mountains in the background and the skyline over O'Connell and Henry Street (you'll be able to see the GPO if you're on the 4th or 5th floor). The only issue is the noise - the walls are quite thin and as Dublin is a popular party destination, it can get a bit loud with folks coming back from a night out. Breakfast is either included in the rate or excluded (11 euros for as much as you like) and unmissable! Very polite staff also, so definitely worth a look.
Would Stay Again!
Spent three nights at Jurys Parnell Street with the wife and my one year old son in Nov 04 in a Family room, Location is excellent if using the aircoach (3min from O'connel street stop) rooms were a reasonable size (coped with buggy travel cot etc) Hotel is new and thus very clean, similar but better than UK travel inns. Breakfast is worth paying for (buffet with lots of choice hot and cold) Bar and restaurant both good reasonable prices. Our room was facing parnell street which is currently being developed lots of building work and cranes although this was not a real problem it was quite noisy from traffic/people day and night. Staff were superb and helped greatly when my one yearold was ill in the bar (they cooked our meal fresh again and brought it to our room) Overall it provides great value for Dublin from a good location rounded off by professional dedicated staff.
A good value hotel
I stayed in a triple room over the weekend when I was in Dublin with my girlfriends. The rooms were clean, not massively spacious, but were sufficient for our needs. The hotel staff were pleasant and courteous and allowed us to leave our bags with them for a lot longer time than we expected.
The location is good, being at the far end of O'Connell Street. One bus from the airport and you can be there. It is a ten minute walk to Temple Bar, along the main shopping thoroughfare.
We paid 117 Euros for a night between the three of us. We thought this was a very good deal.
Good value for Dublin
Good value, clean rooms, clean hotel, pleasant staff, bar till 1.30. Rooms not massive, shop around for rate as hotel website does not always give best rate. Nice feature you need your room card to get in lift, which i thought was a good security feature. Location quite good, ten mins stroll to temple bar.
They take allocation off your credit card when you check in so be warned.
good budget style alternative if you want a change from spending large sums in 5 star hotels.
