... Productions perform their newest show.
What was anticipated to be a comedy afternoon with song and dance started off well with a trio of 3 girls (2 were sisters) who did a medley of songs and played guitar and piano. they sounded really good. I'm going to check one of them out if I can find on YouTube.

... was another story. They had a bakery - all cooked on site, a gorgeous gift shop, a well decorated interior with padded booths, and a side for the truckies the same but having phone connections that they could use.
The full menu of anything from sandwiches to full plates of freshly on site cooked turkey and veg etc. We all had the turkey open burger - fast friendly efficient staff and spotlessly clean washrooms.
Finished lunch on our way ...

... right of the main area and just sat in silence for a little while. It was stunning inside. Huge ceilings and stained glass set the scene. I'm not particularly religious but I can see how this kind of setting can instil belief in some kind of higher power. The fact that they managed to build this place nearly two hundred years ago is impressive enough for me.

... park was a Book Tree. Five thick logs, held together vertically with nooks cut in them to hold books. The nooks were covered with clear perspex to keep the weather out. The books were free. The message being: Take a Book - Share a Book - Leave a Book. Loved this idea. We stopped here particularly to try a delicacy - Beavertail's. Yum. Can't believe we would eat the tail of these cute critters, well we didn't! ...

Our goal this day, was a cruise through some of the famous Rideau Canal - unfortunately, our long streak of good weather ended with a deluge of rain, making this trip impossible.
