      Then today was our last day in Faistenau and it was a good day. It mostly stopped snowing and we had something exciting to do! The four hills tournament was on today in Bischofshofen so we drove there. It was only the qualifiers today but it was still really awesome, its a big international competition, though there were no Australian competitors there... Basically the aim of the sport is to ski down a really big slope then ...

      This time last year I was sitting on a bus recovering from a night bringing in 2014 in Paris with my Contiki family. I was full of excitement for the adventures up coming and optimism for the year that lay ahead.

      This year I am in Salzburg, Austria with my family! Mum and I stayed awake to see in midnight and boy was it worth it. Fireworks are legal for the public to buy and use here, so all night people all around the area ...

      ... its not snowing and you can just enjoy the sun.

      We decided to go to Mondsee next which is another lake town. It was very pretty as it was surrounded by mountains on all sides. There was one restaurant open there which was right on the lake front and had a lovely view. We had some lunch there and watched the tour busses come through. I'm glad we got a car and can explore in our own time is all I'm going to say about that haha!

      ... It was set up much like the one we went to in Germany except that it had lots of food booths. There were lots of different meats and nothing was in English, so I just had a pretzel. Matt tried something that seemed to be like ham and this potato/applesauce side. It wasn't very good so we got 2 different cream puff desserts and called that dinner.       ... the 1600s, built the Mirabell Palace as a modest mansion for his mistress who bore him 15 children! The state rooms are incredible as you can see in the photos, being hardly touched since they were built in medieval times. Renovation work is going on around you as you wander through.
