    ... some rainy weather early on in the day. I took an overnight trip to Kaohsiung for their pride parade and a little bit of a getaway, which was also nice, although the the slow bus really does a take a long time. Almost 6 hours down on a Saturday morning and then 6 hours back in Sunday evening. The fast train only takes 90 minutes each way but it is three times the price.     We woke up on May 12th to the sound of rain. Thankfully, it stopped by the time we thought we should get going. First stop was a traditional Chinese breakfast of salty soy milk with deep fried Chinese dough. Yummy. Then it's off to an eclectic collection of Taiwanese artifacts circa 1900.     Although my third leg was Hong Kong, it actually covered all the regions of China.

    The first was a quick transfer in Taiwan. Unfortunately only spending an hour there - there was still enough time to buy a souvenir, and see some views out of the dodgy old plane plane.

    ... it made up for in rubbish amusements. It was like being at a tacky British seaside resort with all the camel racing, arcades and ****** games to win a big teddy. I had noticed throughout my travels in China that they strangely enjoyed shooting balloons with pellet guns. Not all the time, I mean at these amusement filled scenarios.
