Today we spent the day hanging out with my McGill buddy Marianne and her friend Jonny. He volunteered to show us around a few touristy spots in Taipei! The first place we went to see was Longshan temple. There were lots of people there because of the "ghost festival" that happens in July. There were lots of fruits, incense, and paper items that decorated the grounds.

... that morning. I know this is still only one of my first posts, but I've forgotten whether I've mentioned about Potstickers and Dumplings! So I'm going to tell you anyway. We found this awesome little food place on our walk back from the HESS building, that sold all different kinds of dumplings at $5NT a dumpling! (10p!) and then also Potstickers, which are pretty much dumplings, that are in a tube not a ball, and have been lightly fried aswell. This place was AMAZING. Lovely ...

... for the hotels and wine) its cheap. We spent the first day just wandering around in the drizzle and then had a good night out in the gay area which is a cross between Covent Garden in London and Canal Street in Manchester. No drag shows on the night we were there but a fun area all the same.
Today we explored the wider city but bus and metro, both very efficient systems and easy to use. The bus fares seem to be 30 Taiwan Dollars per ticket, ...
