Hotel was cheap because it had no windows maybe, just screened in orifices that admitted no bugs but plenty of noise.

Enjoyed a great foccacia bread at the biggest hotel in town, right on the river - the Italians that formerly had El Vago now work there. Not too pricey either.

Had breakfast at the Mexican - great to have chorizo again. Had a good chat about Mexico and its beer - we're in ...

Finally back on route, found the falls but the river was so swollen after recent rains I was dubious about going into the main flow & getting washed down to the lower pool from which there was no way out except down. Went in at the smaller side falls which were more sedate.

After dropping Bev off at the airport we headed straight out of town. Of course this took us a good hour due to traffic and the inability to get proper directions! The map I we had purchased at a hotel the day when we came into the country was supposedly up-to-date, but so far I had counted around 10 mistakes. The San Jose portion was no different. By the time we got out of the city it was around 3 PM so we only had a few hours of daylight left and we still had to go ...

Another week of teaching is done, and I am officially on the countdown for going home. Only 2 more weeks - likely only 1 more weekend. ... It is absolutely gorgeous with its tropical rainforest, silk sand beaches and amazing wildlife. We are 'stuck' in Manuel Antonio, meaning we keep extending our stay here bemoaning the idea of leaving this little paradise. Our views overlooking the rainforest to the ocean are breathtakingly spectacular! It's the tail end of "green" season (a local euphemism for rainy season) so it's not too busy.
