... islands, some interconnected by bridges, others by ferry. Hong Kong is connected to the mainland by ferry, metro and a number of tunnels. Outer islands are only reached by ferry. We have arrived at one such Island and the mode of transport is by foot. We disembark from the ferry and stroll through a village with many seafood restaurants. When I see the way the food is kept before cooking I think it is wise to walk to the other side of the island ...

... 360. This 25 minute cable car ride took us all the way out to Lantau Island where we spent a couple of hours wondering around. Lots of traditional Chinese temples and sculptures. The highlight for us was walking up to the Big Buddha at the top of the hill (can you spot the Big Buddha standing behind Mr. Waddles?). One of the fascinating things about Hong Kong is the melting pot of cultures that live here. Because it started off as a ...

So here we are in Hong Kong, morning planned. First the cruise terminal, imagine every duty free airport you have ever been in, the cruise terminal is all of them put together, rolled into one it's huge. So many designer shops, how do they all survive? Hop on the star ferry to Hong Kong Island, off to Stanley Market. Ferry ride ok, no problem and it costs pence. Off at the other side, now for the bus, this wasn't so ...
