... sleep until 2AM, but we didn't have to catch the shuttle back to the airport until 11AM.  Another nice surprise, aside from getting a free room, was that there was breakfast included. And my god, I don't think I've ever seen a more impressive breakfast buffet. There were easily four or five stations, all with the most interesting foods. ... food at a nearby café. Chinese people are just always out and about at the weekends, doing things! Kept going and as I got higher I got more glimpses of miles of trees below, followed by the city of Guangzhou. It was very cool. Came across some very steep steps which lead to Moxing Peak, the highest peak on the mountain. I had read on trip advisor that the hike was very difficult and took 4-5 hours, so I was anticipating these steps to go on for ages... ...

... with lots of the protective lions, and this time it was clear that alternate ones were male and female, as the female one was holding a baby and the male one looked more ferocious. There was also a pagoda, and into each little archway was carved a tiny Buddha.
