We caught the bus from Abu Dhabi to Dubai, the landscape changed from big city very quickly to a desert then all of a sudden Dubai appeared! Was strange to see no gradual transition to the tall, and weird variety, of buildings. We got off at a taxi terminal which took far more navigating than one would assume for just getting a cab, many rules to …
My first visit to Dubai.
From my two weeks Swiss Tour, I also did the connecting visit, my Dubai Tour for another two weeks. Exploring some places in Dubai .. the famous Burj Al Arab Hotel, the Palm Jumeirah, the Wild Wadi theme Park, the belly dancer in desert safari, the ice sculptures in Ski Dubai, the karats of gold in the gold souk, the big malls and the blooming cities in Dubai.
... up the courage to go down. It, like the other slide, had a steep drop to start with, but by the end I was convinced it wasn't as scary as the first one. I left the slides there while Goldie went to discover the even scarier ones! I went and continued around the river. This time I discovered the wave river. Like a wave pool, it creates massive waves about every 10 seconds that push you along. The water park was really fun and sooooo well done. ...
... aquarium in the mall is huge and has some amazing fish and coral, always amazed at the size of everything in Dubai. We bought some lovely pastries from Paul's patisserie and a few groceries and then came back to the room for a rest and a cuppa. We are off to the Burj Khalifa soon to go to the viewing platform- it is on level 124 and takes 1 minute to reach the top by the elevator, ears popped 3 times. The tower is 830 metres high and an amazing structure, ...

Historical Traveler Reviews Jumeira Rotana Dubai
Very pleased with our stay in the Jumeira Rotana. All the staff and facilities were top class. Don't stay there however if you want views of Dubai, as our room had only a view of the apartments next door. The reception area is very nice with free wireless broadband available for guests (which is where this review is being written!).
We stayed here for 3 nights as a stopover in Dubai after a Safari in Kenya. The hotel room was very spacious and clean with good facilities. The rooftop pool area was very nice and there is a Gym for those inclined. They do airport pick ups but a taxi is probably a bit cheaper.
Wow!
This place really is fantastic for location to everything you would want to do. Its 5 mins from the beach and the hotel provide transport there and back, there is a charge for using a private beach which is acceptable as you have all the ammenities there, you would not want to use the public beaches in Dubai believe me.
Nice quiet hotel
This is a really nice hotel, very quiet. Friendy staff always willing to please. Not near the beach so a taxi ride would be needed to get you there. Situated just off a lively street in what looks like a nice area. The street is full of KFC and McD type of places and is as lively as any on a Friday night yet the Hotel is nicely insulated from the street life.
Not much to do at the Hotel and it does not compare with the facilities on offer at the multitude of 5 star hotels in Dubai, but this place deserves its 4 star rating. It has two restaurants which seem to be good. We did not have time to try them ourselfs. While the address is Jumeira it is not on the beach but is nearer to it than any in Diera or Burj Dubai.
I have just recently returned from staying two weeks at this hotel, and I think this hotel is the best 4 star hotel in Dubai.
Wow! What a hotel!!
I stayed with my husband for a week, and I must say for a 4 star hotel it was amazing! Everything was super clean, the staff was always smiling and ready to help you in any way they can. They will organize whatever you want, give you all the information you need. The rooms were big and spotless. The pool is on the roof and very nice. Room service is great! Nothing bad to say about this hotel, if you are in Dubai, this is the hotel to go to!
This is a fabulous "all inclusive" restaurant that is open 4 nights a week with different themes. Myself and friends have eaten there many times in the 3 years I've lived in Dubai and our favourite is Wednesday which is a mixture of chinese and thai food. Where else in Dubai can you eat and drink as much as you want for DHS95 (£15). Go for it!
I didn't stay at this hotel as a guest but I did visit to eat in the restaurant on one of their special buffet evenings.
I contracted a severe bout of food poisoning around 8 hours after my visit and as I hadn't eaten anywhere else that day I strongly suspect that the food I ate at this hotel was resposible.
Other than this problem, the hotel looked fine.
