Historical Traveler Reviews Jumeira Rotana Dubai
Very pleased with our stay in the Jumeira Rotana. All the staff and facilities were top class. Don't stay there however if you want views of Dubai, as our room had only a view of the apartments next door. The reception area is very nice with free wireless broadband available for guests (which is where this review is being written!).
The pool area is small but nice and the gym area is similarly on the small side. An important point to note is that the gym is available for men up to midday and for women from midday onwards.
Breakfast was the only meal we had there but again the quality was high and the choices plentiful (no pork sausages or bacon - veal instead). A chef was on hand to cook up eggs in whatever way you wanted.
The location of the hotel is close to Jumeria Road so it makes accessing the beaches easy and the taxi costs are really low in Dubai as well.
Overall a very enjoyable stay at the Rotana and I would recommend it to anybody looking for a place to stay in Dubai,
Good hotel but some renovation work
We stayed here for 3 nights as a stopover in Dubai after a Safari in Kenya. The hotel room was very spacious and clean with good facilities. The rooftop pool area was very nice and there is a Gym for those inclined. They do airport pick ups but a taxi is probably a bit cheaper.
When we arrived we were told there was some renovation work on the 4th floor due to a refurb and the top floor restaurant was closed at the time. Also access to the Boston Bar was through going outside rather than through the hotel due to the refurb work but the bar did have lots of special offers if you don't mind an American bar.
Breakfast was not included in our package buit was a good buffet breakfast. Also watch out for 20% tax on top if you book direct.
The location was good for local shops and is between the City and the Jumeria Beach. However don't make the mistake we made thinking it is near the heart of Jumeria Beach. There is a beach club nearby but you have to pay to use the facilities. Otherwise the big hotels are all 15 mins cab drive away - there is lots of buidling work in that area though.
We did a BIg Bus tour but the traffic was awful, although the boat trip at the end was great - go for the 5:30 and see sunset.
There are lots of restaurants at the Madinat Souk if you want to eat out one evening.
We went during Ramadan which meant you could only eat in hotels during the day and no alcohol until after 7pm but this was fine once we knew where to go to eat in the day.
My wife went skiing at Ski Dubai at the Emirates Mall which she said was great.
Wow!
This place really is fantastic for location to everything you would want to do. Its 5 mins from the beach and the hotel provide transport there and back, there is a charge for using a private beach which is acceptable as you have all the ammenities there, you would not want to use the public beaches in Dubai believe me.
Just around the corner from the hotel are streets of restaurants and shops, great for an evening walk, you can sit outside, eat and watch the world go by, everything is there.
I was REALLY impressed with this 4 star hotel, to me it was more like a 5 star, service was excellent. Great private pool on the roof, not too large but very quiet and clean where food and drink can be served to you. The room was great, fresh sheets everyday, and cleaned immaculately. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Great modern hotel, AND EXCELLANT VALUE FOR MONEY!! and guess what, not a construction crane in site.
We travel widely throughout the middle east and this hotel would definitely be top of my list next time we visit Dubai.... WHAT CAN I SAY GREAT!!!!
Nice quiet hotel
This is a really nice hotel, very quiet. Friendy staff always willing to please. Not near the beach so a taxi ride would be needed to get you there. Situated just off a lively street in what looks like a nice area. The street is full of KFC and McD type of places and is as lively as any on a Friday night yet the Hotel is nicely insulated from the street life.
Not much to do at the Hotel and it does not compare with the facilities on offer at the multitude of 5 star hotels in Dubai, but this place deserves its 4 star rating. It has two restaurants which seem to be good. We did not have time to try them ourselfs. While the address is Jumeira it is not on the beach but is nearer to it than any in Diera or Burj Dubai.
I have just recently returned from staying two weeks at this hotel, and I think this hotel is the best 4 star hotel in Dubai.
The hotel is located in a great area of Dubai. There are plenty of restaurants within walking distance. You are within 10-15 minutes drive of Jumeira Beach, Gold Souk, Deira City Center Mall, and BurJuman Mall. Roundtrip taxi to all these locations will not cost any more than $10US.
The staff and service of Jumeira Rotana are exceptional. I have nothing but kind words for the staff at this hotel. No matter the time of day, the concierge service is always there to help you in any way possible. The people at the check in are very nice and polite. Room service provides everything you need within minutes.
The rooms are very big and have all the amenities you need. Aside from the older looking decorations, there are no complaints here.
My only complaint against this hotel would be that on the weekends, the noise from the club on the first floor might get slightly high. Aside from that I have nothing but rave reviews and positive comments.
If I ever returned to Dubai, I would not hesitate one second to book at this hotel.
Wow! What a hotel!!
I stayed with my husband for a week, and I must say for a 4 star hotel it was amazing! Everything was super clean, the staff was always smiling and ready to help you in any way they can. They will organize whatever you want, give you all the information you need. The rooms were big and spotless. The pool is on the roof and very nice. Room service is great! Nothing bad to say about this hotel, if you are in Dubai, this is the hotel to go to!
This is a fabulous "all inclusive" restaurant that is open 4 nights a week with different themes. Myself and friends have eaten there many times in the 3 years I've lived in Dubai and our favourite is Wednesday which is a mixture of chinese and thai food. Where else in Dubai can you eat and drink as much as you want for DHS95 (£15). Go for it!
I didn't stay at this hotel as a guest but I did visit to eat in the restaurant on one of their special buffet evenings.
I contracted a severe bout of food poisoning around 8 hours after my visit and as I hadn't eaten anywhere else that day I strongly suspect that the food I ate at this hotel was resposible.
Other than this problem, the hotel looked fine.

... just how beautiful a desert sunset really was.
Following one more short and much less violent patch of off-roading, we arrived at the “Bedouin camp” where we would be having dinner that evening. The whole think was a bit hokey to be honest but it was a beautiful night and it ended up being really nice to enjoy a meal out under the stars there in the desert. We had a wonderful time talking to the family about our travels and of course ...
