Onwards to Carlisle and my cousin Mary and her friends Sharon, Lance and their son Adam were arriving at the train station at about the same time as we were there.     ... Very majestic right from the entry (see photo) and with some unique garden areas. The Serpent Garden had several modern and unique fountains in it. There was a Poison Garden and then several other more typical garden areas.
    Once again, the weather held. It was nice to be out. And the train ride went right down the coast part of the way - and that was just pure delight.
    We will be offline now until the 6th, when we return from a side trip to the Isle of Skye.
