I first visited Tenerife in 1970 with my parents, it was our second holiday abroad. I have been returning ever since. First with my young children, and now just my wife and I. Although the children, now adults in there 20s still ask, 'when can we come'.

A couple of years ago, we bought a second home just outside Puerto de la Cruz, with a view of spending the winter months here in our retirement. In the meantime we come out two or three times a year 'on holiday'.

Andy has picked up a bit of a cough/cold ( he thinks from a woman who coughed on him at the Tenerife SUR airport) so we walked down the boardwalk to locate a pharmacy and buy him some drugs. Plus his 1 ear is plugged from the attitude shift we experienced today. He can only hear out of 1 ear. ... based in Spain. Our flight only cost 100E and it's a 3 hr flight south of Madrid. I realized why it was cheap once onbaord as you had to pay for even coffee or pop.
