... were shocking. The roads were also only one lane in each direction which did mean we were sometimes held up by trucks and tractors. The area was kilometre after kilometre of agriculture - some fields ready to be planted, some with well-developed crops and some that had recently been harvested. The weather was delightful and we thoroughly enjoyed being on the bike.

Our destination was The Wolf’s Lair and our last blog entry was dedicated to this visit so ...

Co niektorzy nie wierza, ale tak- poszlam przyjmowac pacjentow i tak- sprawia mi to przyjemnosc (nie liczac chwili fizycznego zmeczenia po przyjeciu 60 osob pod rzad). Alongside me in the queue for the 19:05 bus from Berlin Hbf to Szeczin for phase 18.7 (b) of the journey to Warsaw is James. He's on the way from his home in Münster to teach English for a week in the Polish hills. I find out that like me he's into his amateur dramatics as we await the arrival of the 22:00 sleeper train at the train station later. My ream of fudged-together 'tickets' ...

We managed to visit Starbucks and McDonald's for breakfast but had a far more Polish lunch and dinner in one of the typically rustic restaurants in the old town - we almost went elsewhere for dinner but liked our lunch stop so much we returned in the evening for a great meal of pierogi (stuffed Polish dumplings) for me ...
