... of the program, we boarded the busses back to the ship. Both Ross and I have a hard time staying awake on the long bus rides, but I guess it's a good way to get in some extra naps. Back at the ship we had a late dinner and plan on getting to bed early. Our tour of Uglich starts at 8:00 tomorrow morning so we want to be well rested. Basically they gave us a bit of historical background, including the fact that Ukraine has it's own language, but the people of Crimea and Eastern Ukraine are all Russian speaking. Apparently Crimea was given to Ukraine as a gift by Boris Yeltsin to the then leader of the Ukraine as a sweetener for keeping up relations with Russia after the fall of the communists and break-up of the Soviet Union. ...

... which was quite neat, but we ended up missing the markets in the town as we thought they were open til 8, when in fact, it was 6pm. After leaving the museum, we took another stroll, spotting a gazebo loaded with love locks that were actually in the shape of heart locks, quite beautiful as many of the locks we'd encountered before in our travels were regular locks.
