... the 14th century and pretty much intact. In yaroslavl area there were 350 churches but the soviets managed to destroy all but 3 and this was used as a storage unit. We walk through the white plastered somewhat shabby entrance to be surrounded by richly coloured frescoes covering ceilings, walls and doors. Floor to ceiling icons arranged in the bottom to top fashion that describes the new testament of christ and gold chandeliers, candles incense and singing. Stunning. Moving right ...

... of the program, we boarded the busses back to the ship. Both Ross and I have a hard time staying awake on the long bus rides, but I guess it's a good way to get in some extra naps. Back at the ship we had a late dinner and plan on getting to bed early. Our tour of Uglich starts at 8:00 tomorrow morning so we want to be well rested.
